Sorry man, but this story comes from at least 3 very reliable sources, that Adrian Wojnarowski guy never writes bull ;) So what you're saying is wrong .. Those arenas stories came from nowhere.

Besides, the article says that Orlando inquired bout CP3, only that ..

not saying it isnt true that Orlando called about Paul, but the whole "Otis was on the phone and Player X let one rip into it", those are the stories im talking about.

Wouldn't it be great?

It would our version of the Gasol trade would be VC+Gortat+Rights to Fran+2010 First, 2012 First. VC = Kwame, Gortat = The other Gasol.

A lot of you who are saying stuff like "it would be impossible for us to get cp3" are underestimating the possibility of a 3 team deal. A team like the mavericks could get involved in the mix. I came up with the following real quick, I'm sure someone here can make this better, but these would be the parameters of the deal:

Orl gets:
Paul
Posey

Noh gets:
Gortat
Butler
Nelson
Stevenson
29th pick

Dal gets:
Okafor
Pietrus
Cash considerations

We get a top tier pg, and a perimeter defender to replace mp.

Noh gets a starting center much cheaper than okafor, a swingman which they desperately need in butler, and a starting pg who is cheaper than Paul in jameer. This keeps a collison trade available should they decide to upgrade at another position, but a line up of Nelson, Thornton, butler, west, gortat, with peja, mo pete, and collison coming off the bench would be a middle of the pack team in the west, and they still have some assets to upgrade. Also they have 2 first rounders to improve with.

Dal a legit starter in okafor and a great 6th man in mp who is from the same country as roady, so he would be a help there too

Again, I'm sure some of you can come up with better deals, but I don't thing this is too too bad

were no Boston or LA. We dont get gifted players because our GM was never part or a "storied franchise." We dont have a West or McHale who used to play for us and is now a GM of another team willing to gift-wrap us a superstar so it wont happen.

Again, underestimating the possibility of a 3 team deal. I'm not saying it will happen, I'm just saying it is more possible than some of you may think

I don't think McHale (Boston) wanted to gift wrap a superstar to LA. He did, but I doubt that was his intention.

We'd be fools not to call New Orleans and try anything to get Paul. He's the perfect player next to Dwight. But just because we're knocking doesn't mean New Orleans is interested.

McHale(the former Celtic) gave KG to Boston
West(the former Laker) gave Pau to LA

the result: both LA and Boston are in the finals with Memphis finishing below 500 and missing the playoffs, and MN being one of the worst teams in the league. Giftwrap or not, are LA and Boston better than they were before the trades? Obviously yes. Memphis and Minnesota? Obviously not.

Don't know why I was thinking McHale was Memphis...

Minny & Memphis are the same team to me I suppose.

That being said...yeah, you are right.

I was thinking that Indiana would make an attractive partner in this three team dance! I've been playing around with the trade checker trying to come up with a good scenerio. Unable to get players to match.

ORL
Gortat
Nelson
Reddick
IND
Murphy
Ford
Rush
Pick #10
NO
Paul
Okafor
Posey
Do these teams seem like a good match?

Hey don't forget about Matt Barnes, not to mention this past season he was working hard on getting CJ Watson from GS, too.

They're our farm team .

Anyway,

I don't think it's impossible for us to get CP3 at all.

VC (virtual expiring)/ Pietrus (expiring)/ Gortat (up & coming C)/ Anderson or Bass to backup PF David West/ and JJ Redick whose stock really rose this season & playoffs... so yeah, it might take a 3 team deal but I'd say we have a shot.... atleast before the new ownership takes over.

Worst case I'd settle for us being able to get Collison which may not be the worst case scenario long term.

I don't think it needs to be a 3-team trade...just two separate trades...

Trade 1:
Orlando Trades
Vince Carter
Jameer Nelson
Marcin Gortat
Rights to Fran Vazquez
2011 Unprotected First Round Pick

New Orleans Trades:
Chris Paul
Emeka Okafor
2010 Second Round Pick

Second Trade
Orlando Trades
6.3 Million Dollar Trade Exception

New Orleans Trades
James Posey

PG Chris Paul/CJ Watson (Bi-Annual)/Jason Williams(Vet Min)
SG JJ Redick/Michael Pietrues
SF Rashard Lewis/James Posey
PF Emeka Okafor/Brandon Bass/Ryan Anderson
C Dwight Howard/Tony Battie (Vet Min)

While I would start Okafor, you quickly bring Peaches off the bench and slide Lewis back to the 4. Establish the defense and then bring out the offense.

New Orleans would have about 24 Million coming in and 33 Million going out...saving 9 million this year alone.

Next summer, VC's 18 million comes off the books. Peaches could be looking for a new contract and opt out.

There is another 23.3 million in savings.

So the trade could potentially save the Hornets 32.3 million dollars instead of spending an extra 33 million in paying Paul, Okafor, and Posey.

That is a 65 million dollar swing.

What team can offer better?
