Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXV: Offseason Edition)
Lol, no Dwight to NJ deal is gonna be happening then.
Good. Hopefully now the Nets won't have the assets to retain Deron and that puts us back in the driver's seat with negotiations with Dwight. Heck, we might be in with a chance to organise a s&t for Deron. That would be such sweet irony.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXV: Offseason Edition)
I get the feeling the GM will be Bower, because Martins worked with him in New Orleans. It would be stupid though, we need Lindsey or Weaver. An up and comer with knowledge from intelligent people.

I'll throw a molotov at Martins' car if we choose Bower over that great field of candidates.

BS from the Sentinel says "something big might happen".
I heard this but how does anyone make that into Phil Jackson the GM or PBO. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it , but that is a new level of stretch.
If it's "Big" and "huge" and "keeps Dwight Howard in ORL" then it has to be a move of that magnitude. Yeah it seems like a stretch, but I don't think it's so far-fetched. I think with enough money thrown at him, Phil wouldn't mind a relaxed executive role, much like Pat Riley has. Phil coaching here is ridiculous. I don't think he's interested in going thru the grind of an 82 game season and I think he'd like his peace and privacy. I actually think Phil in the PBO role makes a lot of sense for both sides.

President of Basketball Operations: Phil Jackson
General Manager: Dennis Lindsey
Head Coach: Brian Shaw
Dwight Howard extends and he and Phil pay D-Will a visit and recruit hard. If it fails, D-Will goes to Dallas. We clear a lot of bad contracts this season, and make a run at CP3 in 2013.
Edit: I wouldn't be surprised if Bower gets the GM position, but I'm rolling with Lindsey.
Wake up bud. That isn't happening.
I was stretching it after Shaw. But I think Phil in an executive role makes a lot of sense for the Magic and for Phil.

Lakers can get us a 3rd team like Houston or Cleveland
Or we can trade him to Houston without LA
I would love to know what Howard was thinking after the lotto results came out.

I want real confirmed news. I'm tired of "sources" and "big things" and all the vague hedge bet "stories" over the past year.
