ok lets be serious here....Bower is not going to get the job is he?....i mean seriously?.....If Alex is factoring championship experience then the choice is obvious.....but the way we run our franchise....i wouldn't be surprise if they pull the buddy buddy stuff and hire Bower is he's friends with Alex....sort of unfair if you think about it but i just hope they make the right choice....a lot is riding on this......you would think they would be leary about Bower since he basically ran his stars out of town.....

Only logical choice would be Dennis Lindsey .. If he wants the job, he should get it

Alex wants experience with a contending team, Dennis Lindsey is your guy.
Alex wants to keep Dwight, Jeff Bower is not your guy, he couldn't keep CP3 in NOH, he even ran him out of town with his "general managing"

But of course, as mentioned above, we all know who's getting the job ..

Hennigan seems like he could be a good GM too.

I don't think Bower is bad per say. But Lindsey and Hennigan are the rising men and so far ahead Bower in getting the draft and long term planning done perfect/great compared to all the other league's GMs. Hennigan went from intern to director in four years only and now the asst GM of a potential dynasty. Lindsey is the asst GM with titles, who seemed to pass down 3 teams' jobs/interviews to stay with us so far (that says something), and outside the R Jeff trade SA is like the standard for drafting late and building with the aging core (while gaining assets simultaneously for potential trades/rebuilds).

Bower did draft Thornton, DC, but Tyson and DC left the CP3 core unreplaced really (Meka is good but Tyson replicated his stats with more chemistry and hustle points/blocks than Meka). Signing Posey was a bad move right after that WCF too because the deal was an albatross after one season. There seemed to be a lot of drafts missing too. I don't think NO would've been a FA destination but Bower messed up letting go of Tyson, DC for worse contracts like Meka and Posey, who didn't replace the aging into oblivion Peja well either. That seemed a little Otis-ish. It's tough to just sit here and say what he should've done, but I would've spent that little MLE/Cap on someone better than Posey (he was like 30 and heavh set then and he wanted Posey as key defender/shooter?!) and used the drafts more often. I know Shinn or w/e was financially constricting unlike DeVos/Otis and that knowledge soured CP3 a lot too.

I'm not judging any Magic GM until the moves are made but Lindsey and Hennigan know how to draft around even a freaking playoffs team well, and that dominoes into building trade assets and rebuilding a team faster. I also believe Lindsey and Hennigan would make a better long term vision and what I mean by this is gathering better assets for a trade than other GMs, and/or gathering cal space (ORL is a FA spot), or worst case scenario knowing to suck it up and soak in 2-3 lotteries like OKC did instead of signing Ice-O to 120mil ~one season after Dwight/Jameer draft.

Couldn't Bower being in the final three just be Martin's good deed to him as they have worked together in the past? But in the end they go with the best candidate (Lindsey or Hennigan) and Martin's tells Bower that "You were my pick but.."

Possible. Maybe Bower is being considered for Asst GM? or Basketball Ops? I remember a rumor that he was brought on last season for some role.

I'm not throwing stones at anyone until a decision is made. Bower could very well be a good candidate but the perception of him being considered for a prominent position because of his friendship ties to Alex is disappointing.

Walsh is out b/c he took himself out.
Pritchard is out b/c he's probably going to get promoted with Morway being fired.

^^^^Not sure how that is the organization's fault.

Weaver and Penn are out if you want to believe the rumors. Some people already have their pitch forks ready and we haven't even made a decision yet.
