I'm sure the board traffic will pick up by then. When the time comes Blitz or I will make a post about it and you or anyone who would like to help do the tallying can get in on it too. That's pretty much all we ended up doing anyway.

Cheers.

Cool.

I will say this about Earl, he played a hell of a series against Indiana.

I remember this.

I also remember Jerryl Sasser going off in Boston and Darko having a 18 rebound game in Chicago. What do they all have in common? Every squirrel eventually gets a nuts. It is the consistency he lacks.

We're going to miss him badly if he walks. You need young, athletic guys like Earl who you can mold when your team is developing a new identity.

I agree but Earl is a dime a dozen type player. I hate to lose another young body to FA but I 4 guys in FA that could replace what he does here and could even add other things.

If Hennigan hires Malone, Clark will be kept. Malone is all about defense and Clark is a great defender.

If Earl does indeed opt out, here is a few trades that would make sense to free up more cash.

1)Magic Trade QRich & $3million cash back the the Clippers (his rookie team) for Aminu trade exception. (Gets us to a potential $12 million below cap, this is with JJ, Jameer & Ryno gone)

2)Magic trade Chris Duhon, $3million Cash and 2012 second Round pick for Udoh trade exception. ($15 million below the cap)

3)then just find a taker for Richardson or BBD & we have plenty $$$ for Williams if he would give us a shot with a committed Howard.

#2 is worth doing in any context; cap or no cap. #1 is interesting if, and only if, Liggins appears to be capable of being this year a 5-8 mpg SF. If #1 happens, #3 only makes sense if Orlando gets back another SF. Hedo cannot be expected to play 30 mpg for all 82 games. He will miss games and Orland needs a player that can step in for 5-10 starting nights at the SF slot.

How many 6"10 guys with 7"3 wing spans that on defense show an exceptional weak-side blocking ability, solid rebounding, and the ability to switch on the P&R and guard a perimeter player without being a liability (cough ryan anderson cough) are available for cheap in free agency? Offensively he has shown signs of being ability to handle the ball decently for his size, and a mid range shot.

As of right now he is nothing more than a solid bench player, but for the money he gets you would have to be crazy to not want him back.

After getting pounded on the inside by the pistons, celtics, pacers, lakers, even the HAWKS you would think Orlando fans would have an appreciation for any cheap big man. Let alone a lengthy, young, athletic, cheap big man.

I think Earl is a little more valuable than a lot give him credit for. In his minutes his rebounding and block numbers are very good, he is 6'10/6'11 and good athleticism. He is the kind of guy you can imagine being able to guard the best 1-on-1 players and be able to switch on to smaller players without it being a problem. Hopefully the next coach is someone that can work with Earl.

Really we ought to be thinking about developing our defense and athletes. What chance do we really have to develop the offensive capabilities to compete with Miami, OKC, etc. Seems to me defense is our only chance.
