I don't blame SVG one bit. The guy had been fired because of Shaq and now was going to be the Scapegoat because of Dwight. I completely understand SVGs reaction and who could blame him when we saw Dwight's fakeness immediately afterwards.

Though I was critical at the time, now I'm actually thankful to Stan for exposing Dwight on that news conference.

hopefully before the season starts this will be over with, and we can move on to the next chapter, Howard, Smith and Van Gundy will be gone and hopefully this board wont be like my NFL team the Buccaneers was when Gruden was fired, spending the next 2 years on hearing how great Van Gundy or Howard was. When both were great in their own aspect. The problem needs to be looked for else where. For some reason the team I love "The Magic" cant keep a superstar and this has been going on way before Howard and Van Gundy

Regardless of whether or not Stan felt he was being betrayed by his player, you don't air out your organization's business like that to the public. That's true in any business. What happens behind closed doors is suppose to stay behind closed doors. If Stan had handled it better instead of complaining every single day to the media about being annoyed by Dwight questions maybe he'd still be here.

But instead he went on TV and basically reported something that was told to him by SOMEONE in the front office (who knows who) as fact. For all we know the person was mistaken or wrong and it never happened. Probably did, but who knows. Hell we should all be aware of how flimsy sources are. Who's to say what we can believe. Move past it.

A lot of stuff happens behind closed doors. Dealing with relationships etc. Stan exposing Dwight was officially the beginning of the end, the Devos family and we as fans at that time would have largely taken Dwight over Stan reguardless of who we liked better. Stan sealed his exit (Dwights) by putting the team in a lose lose situation where they couldn't stand up for either side and Dwight took that very personally. Maybe he leaves anyway but those comments made it a certainty.

To be fair Dwight's been here 8 years. That's a long time. On the other hand you're right about Shaq and T-Mac. I didn't even realize till I looked it up that T-Mac was only here 4 years. I thought he had been here about 6.

So what happens if the Knicks don't match, and the Bulls don't match. Where does that put Houston cap wise in taking back our bad contracts??

@SpearsNBAYahoo: Trade talks "slow" and there is "nothing aggressive" going on in regards to Dwight Howard, source tells Y! Magic patient for right deal.

That would add about 13-14 million to their cap if they aren't matched.

When is Asik gonna sign his offer sheet to start the three day countdown for the Bulls to match?

It kinda sounds like we're being passive and waiting for someone to offer something we like......

Why don't we go out and seek one? If nothing else, just to drive up our opponents' offers.

I am not saying I don't agree with that, Jay. When Stan did that, he did seal his fate. I think he knew that but was tired of dealing with Howard and thought it was time he was exposed for the phony that he was. I am glad he did it. But as far as throwing people under the bus, that is likely how Howard hurt his back. He tossed a lot of them under there.

Parsons, Morris, Patterson and Martin = Howard's contract. After that, not sure how much more Houston could take back in contracts if Lin and Asik aren't matched. I have a feeling we will at least ask them to take BBD and JRich since they are long term. Hedo and Duhon could be kept and waived in the summer of 2013 saving us 8.5 million in cap space.

Of course I also expect the Magic get Lamb, White, Jones, the Raptors pick, the Dallas pick and a future Houston pick.

I doubt we keep every one we get either because we would be getting 3 PFs in the trade so I'm assuming we flip a few of our assets for picks or players we really want.

I believe after Tuesday. That is the last day the Knicks can match. Then we will have to wait until the end of Friday for Asik. I expect Howard to be moved in the last week of July once Houston knows exactly how much cap space they have.

It wasn't just Stan. Howard was back stabbing Smith and many of his team mates. I have a feeling the players knew that and Howard was becoming poison in the locker room. He needed to go.

Undoubtedly, the Magic heard the backlash from fans who watched all the reports whizzing through the air waves and social media which railed against the prospect of granting Howard’s wishes for a marginal package. Purely speculation, but that probably didn’t help Brooklyn’s cause."
