Getting someone who could space the floor out to the 3pt line at the four is almost a necessity if we are going to run the double point guard system with slashers like Dipo or Payton. PPat would have been perfect as a stretch four running pick and pop while being a good compliment to the power game of either Tobias and Aaron Gordon.

He was going to be overpriced from the looks of things which is why we probably didn't try to pick him up. There are other options out there that I bet Henny is actively pursuing. The caveat is the guys we target need to be better than Nicholson in order to make a it worthwhile.

If only the coach was confident in Andrew and push him to get better and give him minutes.. he would be very special coming off the bench playing 23-25 minutes a game.. the coach should have been patient and Andrew should have been given a lot of chance to play the past season.. I don't care if he was consistent or not.. it was not like we were trying to win games..

Here, lemme remind u all of his game..

VS the spurs (as a rookie):

VS the suns (as a rookie)

VS toronto (as a rookie)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs2ojfCkxC4

vs warriors(rookie)

When he starts to look like an average defender on his second season:

vs cavaliers

vs Zbow &4blcks

vs the bulls

Am sorry, we got a secret weapon on the bench and we don't use it wisely and often..
it's secret, cause not many team know of his game..

Payton and A. Gordon have not played together once on the same team so far in practices. I'm thinking they are still running Dipo at the PG and have Payton backing up.

Fournier and B.Gordon likely manning the other guard.
A smart coach once said, "Potential just means you're not good enough yet." Playing on potential is like living on air: It's essential, but if thats all you have, you're eventually going to starve.

I hope Fournier starts. Knowing us Ben Gordon will. God I hope not.

I like Nicholson, Hopefully he progresses this offseason

We do not need to sign another power forward, I hope Nicholson will get minutes in the rotation, it's going to be tough to make the playoffs, giving Nicholson a chance to develop is likely our best solution. If Andrew Nicholson shows he can add to the team that would be good, if he can't we make can a signing and start Aaron Gordon

I hope our roster is:

Oladipo/Payton/Curry
Fournier/Gordon/Green
Harris/Harkless
Nicholson/Gordon/Osby
Vucevic/O'Quinn/Dedmon

Marbles to the D-League

I'm a big fan of Elfrid Payton and Aaron Gordon, I think we need to bring them off the bench to begin with

Anyone else find it funny that with the Lakers pushing for Melo the entire media has jumped on the Randle bandwagon? Now he is portrayed as a franchise cornerstone that combined with Kobe will lure free agents. Hasnt even played a game yet, has a foot injury that could flare up at any moment, yet he's the second coming.

I wouldn't be surprised if KOQ starts at PF this season at least for a while. It all depends on Gordon though. I know a lot of people don't think he is starter material but I think he is solid. He's got double double potential every night and can get 2 blocks a game. He needs to improve his shot a bit but he is the closest thing we have to a traditional PF.

Id like to hear some arguments against him starting that aren't just that he's not starter material. Why isn't he? What specifically about his game makes him a bench player? Is it his foul rate? FG%?

It seems he isn't given any slack and many just assume he won't ever improve some of these parts of his game.

I do think in the end he becomes a very valuable backup PF, but I don't see him as a major vulnerability as a starter. Sort of like Gortat was for a while, could have started and put up good numbers, was a great backup. He wound up getting paid. I see KOQ on a similar path but being a PF he won't see such a big payday down the road.

I actually think Randle will be good, I said that before the draft. I don't think he will be the reason Carmelo Anthony will sign. If Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony signed for the LA Lakers they would have a great 4 to move forward, it will not happen though

Should we be reading into SL practices though? Could just be because Dipo and Payton are the best PGs of the group, so it makes sense to have them lead each team. Plus, Payton is already familiar with Gordon while Dipo is not...

Saw this on one of dr3's links to the U19 games. Had to make it into a gif.

Hope we see more of it in summer league!

I would be elated if we got Frye as he would be my first choice for this team. Not sure he would sign with us though with some contenders pursuing him. We might have to overpay in that case and I think that would give Henny some pause.
