Regardless of his jumper being good or bad, you can tell just by those two clips alone that Fultz brings a level of quickness, explosiveness and change of direction with the basketball in his hands that literally no one else on this team provides AT ALL.

He just can't be a completely unwilling shooter. He has to be willing to take threes/jump shots without hesitation.

People truly dont get this easy concept.

Fultz was compared to James Harden at one point and both carry similar playing styles. We dont need nor realistically expect lights out Fultz, we need a healthy, play-making Fultz and we'll be in GREAT shape.

it was same old crap like this year, some shaky camera, empty arena ,filmed with nokia 33 10 videos of him shooting just to him returning to nba without jumper.

People simply can't wrap their heads around fact that shooting in empty gym ,while guarded by nobody and shooting in game are two different things. I litearlly watched freaking Zubac shoot 3s in empty gym like he is Curry . Guy is 0-4 in his whole nba career for 3.


Matter of fact go watch shootarounds of any college/ NCAA/ G league players, they can't miss during practice. It's normal.
Best example why empty arena shooting means nothing is Stauskas, who made what? 70 out of 76 threes during summer of 2013? Nik Stauskas shot 35% for 3 in nba and is now out of nba. You can watch tape if you google it.

I would be thrilled if Fultz returns with jumper, but posting this "montage" of him shooting two shots, with third being with left hand really does nothing for me. It's like being exited that Birch can touch net. Like really? That's how low bar is set?

I think so. Since the last time we saw him on the court the most we have seen from him is some trick shot layups and him bricking an open jumper in a gym while being secretly recorded. All of that was also met with our GM basically coming out and saying he has no idea when he will even play again.

Considering most of us are just praying we even get to see him in uniform this season the bar is quite honestly set pretty low. Seeing him cut down some weight and make open jumpers with good form is enough to get me excited. I can understand why others would be more skeptical though as I have gone back and forth on where we stand with him this summer as well.

i'm going through this and his shooting form in games, especially from mid range didn't look that bad at all.
Threes were akward sometimes ( not in all attemps) but FT shooting was the worst.

at 2:45 and 2:52 mark you have him shooting mid range 2 ( similar to one that was on video above ) and spot up 3

He was just goin through the motions with a defender on him, shot a 3 in the first one. It looked good coming out of his hand. Then in another vid he put a few crossovers on someone (he traveled but whatever) then step back mid range J. That was the best looking one I’ve seen. Then the last shot was the same vid he just crossed a guy over and threw up a lefty floater that missed.

I want to see him shoot a free throw... that might reveal just how much he has or hasn't progressed.

I agree with this.

Free throw shooting is going to be very important for Fultz if he's going to want to succeed as an offensive player long term.

In theory, he has enough ability from an athleticism, change of speed and ball handling standpoint to really draw a lot of fouls and free throw attempts.

Unfortunately, if he can't make them, that's going to be a problem and also create a trickle down effect because he will be less inclined to drive to the rim aggressively if he's not confident in his FT stroke.

Part of it for me was wondering if he was going to have to drastically change his form due to the shoulder injury. Admittedly, his free throw form was the major concern last season so that will be the thing to look out for in videos or when he plays next season. Hopefully, it has improved.

I'm excited by the fact that we have an x factor that can be a difference maker on our team. but if you guys followed fultz story closely before he joined magic you know videos like this don't mean much. he has highlight reels from real nba games already.

don't understand the hostility towards pepe on this. let's just wait until we can see him on the court and then we can either all rejoice or hug sixers fans sharing their pain together.

Did i say anything ? I posted video of him having same type of empty arena hype video from September of 2018, preseason started right after a video and he showed up at games with no jumper whatsoever. Matter of fact preseason AND regular season together he only attemped 20 three point attems and nobody saw him play actual basketball since.

You tell me about overreactions? People here are hyped that third year guard can shoot. isn't that definition of overreaction?

Is anybody here that hyped though? We all know there's a very real chance this wont work out and he's a lost cause. It's nice to have room for SOME optimism though.

We've heard all about the bad or minimal scenarios...if he's unanimous #1 draft choice Fultz WITH a nasty chip on his healthy shoulder...he could be the biggest story in the NBA next season and the Magic potentially could be contending in the East with a few breaks going their way.

Who's untouchable in the East? Nobody...and our depth and defensive confidence could give us a chance in EVERY game.
