A mate shared a tweet with a rumour which I can't find now, which means it's likely bunk. Said the Knicks have deals in place for Westbrook and Vuc. Said they'll send the #8 + Robinson for Vuc.

His handle was @scottsamwell if anyone else can find it.

Probably more than Por was willing to give up so they traded for Roco instead.

These deals have to up the value of AG, Vuc and Evan. Many teams still shopping with names getting crossed off.

Bucks are doing sign and trade for Bogdan Bogdanovic. They change their guard rotation adding 2 ballhandling, passing,shooting guards. Good for them.

But clarity about some picks that are being traded:

"The 2021 first-round pick to be sent to the Rockets is lottery protected until 2027, after which it becomes a second-round pick, according to Dwight Jaynes of NBC Sports Northwest."

For as long as Giannis and Holiday/Middleton are on the team, its draft picks are going to be largely irrelevant. When it's time to move on, the Bucks will be able to get picks the same way all rebuilding teams have. It's the cycle of NBA life for most teams.

There are bunch of draft picks included in this trades, but for contender, picks have almost no value. Bucks had two #17 picks in last 3 years. Drafted Donte Divicenzo and DJ Wilson. What both have in common is that non of them was playoff serious rotation.

People keep overvalue draft picks. For most good teams they are just assets that they will use to get actually good basketball players and let rebuilding team do all the grooming and selection and development.

I continue to hear the Knicks are doing everything they can to move up — but the asking price to get in the Top 3 for a shot at LaMelo Ball may be too rich for their blood — Mitchell Robinson, the No. 8 pick and either a future first rounder or RJ Barrett. That’s a lot.

Covington has to be the first sign that Fertitta's HOU is losing Harden. I though they would've done a minor/medium move, and rolled it back. Or at least roll it back. But losing Covington is like the white flag. And Harden probably feels less loyal to a new Owner, FO, and HC.

It makes Westbrook's trade request much more understandable, given that reports are saying it happened after Harden's trade request now. If Westbrook can be had for cheap..

A lot of these dudes fake guess trades just from rumors and then build that as their resume when they "hit" by announcing something that has been thrown out there by someone with actual knowledge. It's really easy to realize who is connected and who isn't (remember CP3 to Orlando a few years ago?).

It's a done deal imo, Harden is gone. They will probably try to trade Westbrook first to not look like desparate fire sale.

But what i can't figure out is what execlly would Knicks offer to Houston to not make Houston, after Harden trade- G league roster and at least watchable.

Randle, Portis and 8th pick for Westbrook works.

But what will Knicks do after it ? Westbrook, RJ, Ntkilina, Payton and Dennis Smith are all ball dominant guards, almost non of them can't even co-exist with Westbrook but RJ.
Rest of their roster outside of Mitchell Robinson is complete trainwrack.

SO let's say they are chasing Vučević. Is there ANYTHING that Magic want? I don't think so :dontknow:

Are Magic trading Vuc for Elington, Taj Gipson and Elfrid Payton and some 2026 first round pick that is lottery protected? :crazy:

If CP3 only got Rubio and Oubre then RW probably only gets Randle + Portis + some of their old youth like DSJ and Ntilikina.

Not sure Vuc lands the bigger haul though.

Totally. Let it be known that I am wide open to the theatre and fun of entertaining all these ideas for the next week though. No expectations, it's just the spirit of the season.

Matching salaries is nightmare and those huge contracts are not worth selling farm/assets for. Nor it's needed.

Westbrook is 32, makes what? $38M?

Chris Paul is 35, makes $40M.

How many teams have realistic projection of future salary to just dump 41% of salary cap on player that might next year be one foot away from retirment?
