This isn't all that suprising.
When people got cought into this " centers will dissapear" BS they forgot who are teams who were dominating without bigs.
Miami Heat, team with Bosh playing center ( hall of fame player) , one of best players ever + one of best SGs ever.
Warriors - probably the best PG in history and one of best shooters ever
Warriors with Durant- again, literally 2 out of probably 15 best players to ever lived
Cavs- 3 hall of famers
Sure, it's possible to win without center, but it's basketball, being 7 footer , in slower pace, without mindless regular season running, gives centers that much more value as they have time to catch breath , clog paint, conest shots and on offense, even most limited ones, are still huge target for putbacks & offensvie rebounds.
Look what Ayton is doing to Lakers. 20 ppg on 75% FG. They simply have no answer for player who is massive but has soft touch around rim.
Ayton & Jokic are near 30 ppg.
NBA regular season and nba playoffs don't even feel like same sport to me. 8-9 men rotations, half court offense, contesting 3s, clogging paint, contesting shots. it's nothing like regualr season where random average talent like Julius Randle can put up almsot 30 ppg .
This doesn't even take in account that likes of Durant, Lebron & Giannis are all +6'9 +240 pounds players that also can play like bigs if it's needed.
