Anyhow, I don't think Orlando can beat Boston without Paolo.

Bucks, Knicks, Hawks, Magic
Warriors, Thunder, Rockets, Mavs

I expect all 8 to make the postseason and playoffs. Thunder, Mavericks, and Magic all have greater than 3.3% probability to win the title, which is a lowish threshold to identify a contender.

Are the Cavs and Celtics exposed because they didn't escape group play? Are the Hawks legit because they did?

As the two best teams in the East are not in the cup, the Bucks, the Knicks, and the Magic all have plausible paths to the Finals. Even the Hawks only need to-get-hot-twice. [that won't happen as the Hawks will play defensive juggernauts in their game(s)].
