Does anyone know what his role will be? Is he the new offensive coach?

This is so interesting giving him a spot on the staff. I imagine he will have a big say in the offense. It’s a little bit of a big swing but a very interesting one
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

I’m pumped.

That said, he may have the lowest bar ever to clear: "Get them better on offense than being the worst ever"

Perfect addition. Overlapped with Mosley in Dallas so built in chemistry, and during his tenure Dallas made appreciable leaps in turnover rate.

God Shammgod, known for his legendary crossover move, has become a prominent offensive coach in the NBA, particularly for his focus on player development and ball handling skills. He has had a significant impact on players like Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic during his time with the Dallas Mavericks, where he served as a player development coach.
Key aspects of Shammgod's offensive coaching approach:

Ball Handling Emphasis: Shammgod helps players develop their ball-handling skills through various on-court drills, emphasizing techniques to improve their dribble speed and control. He teaches players how to stay low and aggressive with the dribble, avoiding the tendency to come out of a stance when pressured.

Expanding Player Strengths: His goal is to enhance a player's individual strengths without hindering the overall team performance. He believes in equipping players with a strong foundation in dribbling and allowing them to utilize their creativity within the flow of the game.

Beyond the Dribble: Shammgod stresses the importance of what happens after the dribble, focusing on how players transition into shots or passes. He highlights that exceptional dribbling is only impactful when combined with the ability to finish plays effectively.

Player-Centric Approach: Shammgod fosters a positive and supportive environment for players, working closely with individuals to help them improve and enjoy the game. He encourages players to be themselves and ensures they feel valued as individuals.

Impact on NBA Players:
Shammgod's tutelage has helped players expand their skillset, particularly in ball-handling and playmaking, making them more versatile and valuable in today's NBA.
He has developed strong relationships with several prominent guards, including Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic, Trae Young, and Ja Morant.

Even big men have benefitted from Shammgod's guidance, learning how to improve their passing off the dribble.

Recent Career Move:
After a successful tenure with the Dallas Mavericks, God Shammgod recently joined the Orlando Magic as an assistant coach, reportedly at the request of Magic Head Coach Jamahl Mosley, who was previously an assistant with the Mavericks. This move signifies an elevated role for Shammgod in his coaching career.

In summary, God Shammgod's offensive coaching is characterized by a strong emphasis on individual player development, particularly in ball handling, combined with a focus on translating those skills into effective offensive actions. His ability to connect with players and his deep understanding of ball handling techniques have made him a valuable asset to NBA teams.

Just what the doctors ordered. The fact that he's also a players coach.... Demands respect through positivity and trust... Orlando is truly sticking to their formula on the court and off the court. Loving it.

What's the deal with this guy? Is he a offense coach? Strictly player development? Some prodigy?? What's the hype? I don't much about him.

He’s only been in player development to date, but it sounds like he’s getting a bump up to full blown assistant coach.

I have no idea how good of a coach he is, I know his name from a lot of NY rappers. He was namedropped a lot in songs.

Hopefully hes good? Seems like he was our target so good we got our target but I dont know how you can be excited for it, theres nothing to really suggest hes a good or badcoach. But welcome aboard, lets rock!
