So, they made 41 points in the first half, then 39 points in the 4th quarter. Never change Orlando.

Freemantle plays with TJ McConnell's motor.

Penda looks better than Rasheer Fleming so far. Fleming is a known non-ballhandler. I'm not sure how that's going to work if he isn't playing center.

Penda was good. Freemantle was good. Crutcher had a good 4th quarter. Moore was ok.

Everyone else was yuck.

Crutcher in 182 G-League games has made 548/1364 three pointers

That's 7.5 attempts per game at 40.1%.

I really think they are doing this on purpose... throwing garbagr lineups out there...

Agreed

Yeah that was the issue with Fleming, he can't do much of anything with the ball. Has to be special on defense and capable of stretching the floor a bit to provide value. That being said he is the exact kind of player that can look bad in a summer league setting. It can be really hard to evaluate role players who don't handle the ball in a jumbled up setting like this.

I definitely would rather have Penda though personally.

Has Wendell Moore Jr. done enough to warrant a two-way?

13.8 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 0.3 APG, 1.3 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 1.3 TOV, 17/39 FG (.436), 6/16 3PT (.375), 15-17 FT (.882) in four games.

I agree, everyone is out there for themselves. I dont think this is good for Fleming.

I was high on Fleming pre-draft but he does look like Bidmack Biyombo out there in summer league. Biyombo with a shot. Not even agile enough for defending wings, imo.

Penda appears to be the correct choice.

Personally, I considered Fleming more of a big and Penda more of a wing in the pre-draft process.

Fleming seems like a 4 who has the wingspan and shot blocking ability to play some 5.

Penda seems like a 4 who has the feel for the game and the lateral movement skills to play some 3.

Fleming felt more like a true like for like long-term Jonathan Isaac replacement, whereas Penda will (ideally) eventually replace Isaac too, but will do so in a very different way.

He’s much better than the dude we’ve got on two way right now.

Has Ethan Thompson made a 3 this whole summer league? Every shot he takes is a brick. Why is he on the team?? He does nothing. Awful player.

Penda is just awesome. Im surprised how much they been looking at him as an offensive hub. Makes good reads and takes good shots.

Feels like Summer league gets worst every year. It was probably at it's lowest when 3 different "Summer leagues" existed, but last two years it lost it's purpose. Should have been about young players and undrafted guys getting their last serious shot at nba. Instead, it turned into watching 27 years old bums not being ready to let teenage dream go.

Yet that's how so many guys approach these games.

The double irony is that the Magic FO is clearly not interested at this point and probably not even watching…maybe they’re auditioning for a team that needs selfish scorers

No team has ever won the NBA Championship after their summer league team goes winless. Kind of weird stat.

The question is, what do rookies get developmentally from these Summer league games? Nothing.

For Orlando in particular:
RIchardson was the 3rd string PG no matter what. And da Silva's role as a 2nd or 3rd stringer is an issue to resolve in the pre-season.

So: the only question was Penda. Could he dominate? As the answer is clearly YES, then there is nothing left here.

Better than the three work on skills training in the Magic gym and do bonding events (bowling, or whatever is on offer this summer).

...

Related. The Magic really, really needed to find a two-way Center in these games. Maybe the team has, but not from its roster.

Have you followed the other games? Every team is bad. And some are HORRIBLE. Example: Wizards just put in a 58 pointer. Even their "ace" AJ Johnson was not dominant (inefficient and TO prone with poor ball movement.)
