Otisdoesnt know what he's going to do, and everything he says i don't believe and he still insists we are a young team and don't need a quick fix...we have one really young player and he's our best!
Please fire him, he is not progressive at all..

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

I'll believe this when I see it, too. I think he's just hoping to turn up the heat on some other team to sign him. Notice one thing with these guys who are getting near the end of their careers. They want to go to rosters who have a lot of players who also are closer to the end of their careers than the start and have consistently played at a high level the past few years. (See Miami, until this year; the Lakers before that; Boston now; Phoenix; Dallas; San Antonio, Pistons.) A lot of them want to know they are going to teams that are near guarantees to make the conference finals without them. Can't blame them. They are running out of time to win a title. Webber played with the Pistons last year and has said consistently up until now that that is the team that he wanted to play for again this year.

Why would we cut Dooling? why not Garrity or Augustine
Agreed. Dooling's been worth his salary to my opinion. He's really the only slasher we have. And that's one of our problems. We don't really have back court slashers. We need a JR Smith, Childress, Petrius type in IMO. Maybe trade Dooling and an expiring for one of them.
I say cut Garrity or Augustine for Webber if possible

Otis already said - and I say it again - he is not interested in Weber.
I think we should pick up Weber if we can get him, but it may be kind of tough if Otis doesn't want him.

lol... kind of seems kind of funny.
He comes back to win a championship. not just to play with Dwight Howard. It's like saying you just want to practice, and not play in the game. Lakers and Detroit just seem the 2 teams that can get to a championship now. Lakers look very good, and are turning into an elite team in the western conference. Detroit is always an elite team.
LOL ur insane if u think LA is an elite team and title contender. Now if they had Butler that would be a different story...

"I have had an exchange (verbal) with Chris within the last 24 hours and I've been in constant communication with his agent (Aaron Goodwin)," Pistons president Joe Dumars said. "But the one thing that hasn't changed is that we still have a 15-man roster, and that poses a problem as far as bringing him here."
Dumars said it was not his intention to buy out the contracts of either Flip Murray or Primoz Brezec. So, unless a trade can be made, Webber is going to remain on the outside.
Webber has apparently not responded to overtures made by the Lakers. He has included Orlando as a possible destination, as well.
This is from the Detroit Free press..
So maybe it comes down to Orlando and Detroit. As I said I really dont see any reason why he would want to go to LA. We have more of a chance at the ECF IMO then the Lakers have of making it to WCF. Simply because the West has so many good teams. Itll be interesting to see what happens.

I could see Webber coming here if he has cooled his jets on getting guranteed minutes. That was the one specific thing that Otis mentioned, when he said earlier that he wasn't interested in signing him. He was demanding too much then. Now that Detroit has been reported to be reluctant because of roster space, and with Bynum going down, and Miami sucking, Orlando is really the only intersting job out there for him. I think we can give him a starting job too, but he would have to be open to getting reduced minutes and hopefully he is now. Moving Shard back to his natural position, and adding a good passing pf, would help us out a lot. Cook is starting to show that he can handle a lot of the backup minutes as well. And with Shard, we have all the depth we need. Auggie would be the one who suffers the most in this obviously.
I'm not sold on Hedo moving to sg however. Our defense would suffer even more with him there. We aren't having trouble scoring, there is no need to take the decrease in an already weak defensive team. Evans has been doing the best there so far, but it still doesn't address our long term solution. I could see a trade coming that would open up a roster spot for Webber. A three for two or two for one, that would prevent us from having to cut anyone. Hopefully Otis is working out a deal to get us a permanent sg and Webber is waiting until he gets it done. Thats the best case scenario for me at the moment. This team needs some tweaking to it. I hope its not the final product.

Onthe Lakers board one poster says that DJ Mbenga has taken his physical, and a deal should be almost done pretty soon. Alot of the fans over on the board are already saying that due to this signing, Webber would be a no go for their team. So I guess it is up to us to make a move since Detroit wont make room.
Also anybody no anything more on the GSW rumor?

I would guarantee Webber a starting slot after he gets into game shape.
It gives us alot more options, our expirings can be used to shoe up the backcourt.
