Pistons have pick to lose if they are too good. Ofc they aren't too good. They are 2-8 vs above .500 teams. They hope for some progress from past years but also still want to stay below 13# and keep pick. They will run out of Wizards/Hornets/ Nets of the world to win enough games.

There are more teams on East that want to tank than enough playin-free slots. Meaning, somebody will "fight for playoffs" with 32 wins or so.

This is where 76ers disaster becomes comical and low key smart. They can bull*** whole year and still make playoffs without much effort.

Nikola Jokić is averaging a 30/11/14 triple double.

Is this the best season by any player in the last 50 years? Maybe.

Amazing that Antetokounmpo is posting 33/7/12 and isn't "the best player".

Jazz tanking is on different level. Words can't express what they did vs Lakers. Unreal.

if Sexton isn't moved at the deadline idk how he'd continue to play for them. Open lane for the winning layup and HC calls a TO

Crazy how Chris Paul still impacts the game at his age. With all the Playoff trouble aside, one of the best regular season floor raisers of the last 30 years.

Unreal.

Must be miserable feeling being competitive and be there.

He'll be so hungry to compete that he'll happily accept any role we offer...maybe even play defense.

Like I wrote in the other thread, assuming Embiid will play in our game(s) since Paul George can't play back to backs.

Pelicans lost 9 straight games, 15 of last 16.
Maybe it's time to put white flag and try again?

Ingram signed with Klutch in last year of his contract. Back to LA? Probably. Last year of his contract, that boy is goner. Davis probably already sent him his most memorable Pelicans shirt "That's all Folks"

Zion will never be nba player you can rely on. I've said that thing year before college, i still don't understand how somebody could pick him 1# overall and with straight face believe that 6'6 -300 pounds person can play pro sports without massive body recomposition or flat out complete weight loss that would require him dropping 30-60 pounds.

Body recomp is difficult and would require strict eating plan and even more rigorous workouts, Zion can't do that, if he could, he would never be 300 pounds in first place.
And if you force him in fat loss, what are you left with ? Rich man's Kenneth Faried ? 6'6 PF who can't shoot.
His whole selling point was fact he was uber athletic fatty. But fatties should not fly like he can and that gift is also his curse. Fatties aren't made to fly because their joints, muscles and bones can't accelerate and leap but also don't like to land with all that extra weight.

Nobody in the world can "fix" him because no matter what you do, you will screw him up in one way or another.

Pelicans, dudes, you are playing Elfrid Payton. Stop. Join Nets in garage fire sale.

Not to be disrespectful, but playing Payton is a commitment to the garage fire sale.

He has played in 6 games, averaging 23 mpg. The Pelicans are averaging a 17.7 ppg loss rate with Payton.

I don't mind playing Payton, guy is proven tank captain, but they *need to trade Zion and Ingram asap*

Zion probably doesn't have much value, but Ingram in unrestricted FA. There is nothing to gain from keeping him. Guy signed witch Clutch, he is goner. Lebron already picked his new destination

Ofc McCullum and Murray should also go if they can find suitors.

That team is dead. Keep one of Herb/Murphey , get as much picks as you can for fire sale and start from zero.

This team is flagship example that "brightest future" means nothing in sports. You are either elite team today or your future is uncertain until proven otherwise.
Also trading top 5-8 player will never be "win trade" no matter how many assets and ping pong balls you get, top 5 players in nba come across once ever 8-9 years.

Thinking about the Pistons, there is a nice core already. Maybe winning and losing the pick is OK with management. For the players, making the Play-ins when the team was predicted to be worse than the Wizards, 100% te players are all in on that.

Actually, I can't see the Pistons falling below the 12-seed under any scenario. Being better than the Nets and Sixers, and the Pistons is in. I'm kind of rooting for them. It's a fun team.

I don't like Pistons nor way they are set up. They have low floor with .500 ceiling as best case.

Cade as best player does nothing for me, he is second option on good/great team. Draws very little fouls for usage, his efficiency is below average. If Ivey can actually play more of a play maker he would already be better than Cade.

Rest of a roster? i like Duren, i had high hopes for him, but he is fish out of water in current nba, feels like player that should have been drafted 15 years ago.

Holland is everything wrong with modern NBA, rebuilds, draft, G league in one person.
Pyscho Stewart is jail waiting to happen sooner or later.

Toby Harris , Hardaway, Beasley neither can raise ceiling not help team develop bigger safe net for more stable floor.

Even if Pistons somehow, with 7th worst offense and mediocre defense "win" enough to lose pick and get into playoffs, they will still be in no man's land next year(s).

Almost forgot. Less talented Thompson twin. 6'6 center sold before draft as shooting guard.

This is so sad...

Defenders of the Elf, your boy EP just got waived? What happened? After that incredible 21 assist game

Elf will be back, he showed he’s still got it. Pels must have a trade for Ingram lined up and ready to go.

????

If you have a trade... why waive a player? Lack of roster spot?

They already have DM, CJ, Alvarado and Hawkins in their backcourt, they only needed Elf because they had a historically bad amount of injuries. If they don’t see minutes for him then they might’ve cut him loose as a courtesy so he can try sign with another team now he’s shown he can still drop 21 assists in a game.

And if Ingram goes out, who knows what they get back. If it’s another guard then definitely no need for Elf.
