Can someone bump the 2023 draft thread?

It’s looking like the 2023 draft was a bad miss on both picks.

Honestly, Jett should be thankful Bronny is in the league to take any nepotism heat off of him. Jett should have never went 11

Nah, if Jett gets moved to a tanking team like BKN and gets all the shots he wants he’ll look much closer to Grady Dick/Jordan Hawkins and more worthy of the pick.

Still would’ve preferred Podziemski, Cason Wallace or Lively.

I don’t think anything we’ve seen actually indicates that. Unless your point is any player in the NBA can put up volume stats on below average efficiency, which I disagree with as well.

In the 4 games Jett has played more than 20 mins in, he’s averaging 10/3/2 on 35/25 shooting. Luckily he played 19 minutes tonight or his splits would be even worse

They should make the play in.

2.5 games ahead of 10th, 3.5 games ahead of Sixers in 11th. They are not even going to make the play in.

Who is going to surpass them? It would require 3 teams, and the only real options are ATL, Chi, and Philly. Atlanta is likely going to fade (they are currently on an 8-game losing streak) with Jalen injured unless they make a trade. Bulls I have no faith in as they are tanking and are likely sellers at the deadline. And Sixers have the talent to surpass but are pretty far back and are always injured. I really don't see 3 teams passing the Magic and blocking them from the play ins. The east sucks too much.

Tatum was in the ECF his rookie year

Yeah, but he was 8th on the team in USG% that year. They were literally the No. 1 seed and a 53 win team the year before Tatum got there.

He is 3rd on the team in Points Per Touch, just behind Moe and Franz, and above Paolo. And 2nd on the team in eFG% on catch and shoot FGs, behind Moe.

They still aren't great numbers, but he is a strong catch and shoot scoring option but we lack the facilitators to get him the ball more frequently.

Dick has a higher points per touch and eFG% on catch and shoot FGs in almost three times as many minutes played as Jett

Probably both, I can clearly see his legs not all the way back.... When you're not playing well and losing it's going to weigh on your mind... This reminds me of pinched nerve paolo, seems like whenever an injury is involved he struggles with it

Hope this team rebounds quickly. This is just uncharacteristic. Losing to both bottom team in the league in Portland and Utah. Something is wrong. And what is going on with Paolo?

the more I think about this...it makes sense, especially if it's something to do with PHX, where he would happily go - no hard feelings. Why else would a guy who plays so hard choose to "rest" at a time when he's so badly needed. If you tell me Suggs AND KCP are both out - it's likely to be a looong night (or a happy night if you're an opposing scoring guard)...anyway, doesn't sound like a KCP move unless something's brewing. :D :o

I mean yea, he could go on Nets and put 10-12 ppg on 20 wins team.
But even there they would not be thrilled with high usage, 50% TS efficieny guy who can't defend, draws zero fouls and shooting 30% for 3 as 3 point specialist.

Dick plays off ball a lot, Jett stands like wood and does nothing off ball.

It was bad pick on draft night, it still is bad pick today.
Guy was projected to be picked laaaateeee in first or even second round. They took him in lottery.

According to StatMuse it’s 20-15 with him and 4-11 without. Basically a legit playoff team when he plays and a lotto team when he doesn’t.

Box score thoughts:

Not sure if you intended on the double meaning, but one reason of this cooked poop-show was the Magic was dominated on the boards. In a game with horrible shooting, the Magic had huge numbers of rebounding opportunities, and gave up 51 rebounds and finineshes minus-8.

In the end, only one stat matters: 22%
32 missed 3pt shots. Hmm

I am getting sick of fans here wanting "offense". The Magic needs shooting.

New thought line: the last two games, the Magic has played horrible defense. This is really quite troubling. Additionally.

I love this team BUT this "make or miss league" BS excuse is not going well for me

We need to attack the paint and stop launching so many 3s

This is basketball, not a 3pt contest, because 90% of the league is over using 3PT, you dont have to be fool enough to do like them

I m sick of this 3PT orgy era
Suggs, AB, Tyus, Jase
Bane, AB, TDS , Jett
Franz, TDS, Panda
P5, JI, Panda, Moe
Wcj, Goga, Moe
