I don't see Harrington staying long term, but he actually comes across as a good veteran leader to me. He'll make a good assistant coach one day.

when Al's taking 5 threes a game and 12 shots in 18 minutes i doubt people will be calling him a veteran leader, hopefully he gets traded

nyce video. thanks for posting (and for the others also).

didn't know anything about Harrington except for how Knicks fans described him. After watching this video, seems like someone that'll fit the culture while he's here.

I like most on here are a life long Magic fan and are still furious over the trade that Henny made. Not only cause its sending Dwight to LA (at least its not Brooklyn) but the fact we got NOTHING in return and only got rid of Duhon (yippee) flat out stinks!! The worst part about this trade is to me this makes us a 30-35 win team, not making the playoffs and gettting somewhere around a 14-15th pick in the draft, wow!!.

We're not gonna be a lottery team so why take back these players we got? To me the whole roster looks like nothing but role players no stars/stars in the making. If we still had Dwight Affalo and Harringotn would have been upgrades to the roster but no Dwight whats the point??

I for one was happy when we signed Henny but after these roster moves I've seen so far, its looking more and more like we got Otis 2.0. I'm done with this team trying to "build" through the draft, its not gonna work. I like most are tired of grooming Super-Stars only to see them want out when they hit there prime. The only way I ever see us winning a ring is if we luck out and can try and sign 2 max free agents at once then we have maybe 4-5 year window to get it done.

I know most/all of my points have already been said on here, so my bad for just saying it again (just frustrated like most on here). Look forward to posting on here with the rest of ya'll as we have mediocrity to look forward to this season. GO MAGIC!!!

People are crazy for wanting Al here long term. The guy is like a chucking and much worse version of Jamison. He is a quality back up PF on a stretch 4 scheme but that's not what we need.

Al
Hedo
Q
McRoberts (good hustle guy just not needed with our 7 PFs

All need to be moved before the season if possible. Q least of all but I'd still like to see him gone. I'd like to see:

Nelson, someone new, Ish
Aflallo, Redick, Liggins
Harkless, Justin, someone new
Baby, Nicholson,

Then O'Quinn, Ayon, Vukevik need mins too. Are any of them true centers?

I agree. He has the character and work ethic to be good. Anytime you get a project player you want to make sure they have the physical gifts and the will to get better. Very easy guy to root for and I hope he can maximize his potential.

As much as I'd like to think that we'll be able to land some good free agents in 2013 and 2014, I think we're going to face some stiff competition and may come out snubbed like the Nets did in 2010. We'll have max money, but not sure if some of the guys that come our way will be worth it as much as, hopefully, the players we pick with the draft picks.

Alex Kennedy ‏@AlexKennedyNBA
The 2014 free agent class could include LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Dirk Nowitzki, ... http://sulia.com/c/basketball/f/a17ef29 ... ce=twitter

Alex Kennedy ‏@AlexKennedyNBA
Dwight Howard and Steve Nash are the only Lakers under contract in 2014. LA could add 2nd and 3rd star from this class:

Alex Kennedy ‏@AlexKennedyNBA
Re-signing with the Lakers makes sense for Dwight Howard. For next 2 years, compete for ring with this core. Then, reload in summer of 2014.

Imagine Lebron joining D12 in LA in 2014.

Long time Magic fan from the UK, thought id join you Roll and give my take,

FIRSTLY: to the posters stating REAL MAGIC FANS ARE STILL P!SSED ETC ETC ETC.....

how about this buddy, I live in the UK, we are 5 hours in front, over the past 2 months my sleep pattern has been KILLED, staying up draft night, logging on to Realgm at 3am to check the news feed for trades etc, staying up till 2pm for games to start, with work starting at 8pm (im a basketball court), and guess what..im not MAD about the trade...

I'm at a stage of acceptance, i accept that Henny has a plan, I accept Jocks coaching ethos and subscribe to them, and I LOVE and have FAITH in this team. I don't judge anyone who's mad, i accept and understand it, but to say you're not a real fan if you dont mind the trade is MADNESS

ANYWAY, on to the trade, my first response was the same as the everyone WTF, but as time passed, i looked deeper and understood their plan and HEY..it might work, it might not..but hes got himself

- Athletic big men

- Athletic wings

-Defensive Shooter

-flexible contracts

- Draft Picks

- A coach who will TEACH, and DEVELOP players and we can develop a culture and ethos.

The future is bright in my eyes, silver lining and all that.

Right now, as a Magic fan, im in pain, and preparing to suck, and be overlooked, and have no games on TV etc. but as long as our management are trying, in a smart, thoughtful, intelligent way, i will always be behind the team and a Magic fan

Well, it's actually the opposite, the people hating the trade are saying they're true fans and tell the others to gtfo :)

I think the trade does suck but I just really like Hennys vision too. He wants basketball IQ, work ethic and athleticism/length. After years of watching this team that didn't have any of that, you learn to appreciate those traits more. Henny isn't going to build a one dimensional team.
