There is a reason why Aminu was traded from LA and possibly released. He hasnt shown anything.

Ps. So happy basketball is officially back, and being in LA I am very much looking forward to the media's reaction to Dwight's ft shooting and foul out. 0-9 isn't sitting well out here lol!
I will be glad to admit this if I am wrong, but I think that if either Dwight or Pau goes down for any length of time, then LAL are in trouble. They may have the best starting lineup on paper but their bench has not a lot of depth to it in my opinion. (Glad to see this! Hope they lose big!)

Aminu is horrible. He reminds me of Harper, no definable skill whatsoever. Difference is that he was able to fool an NBA team into drafting him in the lottery...

Aminu is bad......I'd rather gamble on some rookie than take Aminu who is unproven. Didn't even play well in the olympics...

If Kobe goes out, they are screwed.

I think they're just declining Aminu's option, not releasing him.
He's been named opening day starter for the Hornets.

I cant believe some of the deals these teams are throwing out especially for non playoff teams, Eric Gordon could be the next Grant Hill deal as he is now out indefinitely same goes for Steph Curry, really what are these teams thinking, in hindsight the Lawson deal looks like a steal compared to those two

After watching last nights game I'm pretty sure Lakers are going to start off the season the same way Miami started their new line up a few years ago. If you remember that year, Miami was actually doing really bad and was on a pretty decent losing streak. I see that happening with the Lakers, the lack of chemistry and fluidity in the offense is going to cause this team a lot of losses in the beginning. I don't know about you but I'm all for seeing the Lakers struggle but when that team starts working together they're going to be good unfortunately their bench has about as much depth as a kiddie pool.

Same here, I hate Dwight and that's it. I don't really like Gasoline, but I love Nash and Kobe.
Not changing this Sig until the Orlando Magic win a championship (Technically Started 1-30-08)

the difference is miamis big three were all in their prime. Nash is 39, kobe is 34, and dwight didn't look explosive at all last night. If things go bad for them, as a magic fan, it will be amazing to watch.

The Steph Curry contract definitely isn't bad if he's healthy. Not at all. I'd go as far to say that this deal is a steal actually. And if he gets injured then the contract becomes a headache, not really a franchise stopper. I've been amused by this forum's frugality when it comes to contracts. I think it's because of the "Otis-Effect" (declaring everything as being overpaid). When guys like Jameer and Jeremy Lin got 9 per this offseason, what do you expect the much younger and better pgs (with lots of potential) like Lawson and Curry to get? And also I would say that the Warriors are in the hunt for the playoffs.
Calling everyone overpaid is getting old. What did you expect seriously? You think Steph Curry is going to get a sub-$10 mill contract?

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLVIII"Preseason"Ed.)
meh, I think we can all agree the media is overreacting to the lakers game. (although I do hope it gets inside dwights head a little bit) but we can't judge anything from last night. Howard didn't look himself and kobe obviously coming off injury, it should have been expected loss but of course the media wants to play the hype game.
as an aside, Mike Brown is going to look like either a basketball genius, or the coaching version of JaVale McGee:
that Princeton offense crap is going to be a struggle for much of the year, but if they do figure it out and mix it it up with an uptempo fastbreak/pnr style plus throw in a few kobe isos, then they could be incredibly difficult to plan for.
then again, it could melt down into a bunch of oncourt infighting, which would be entertaining also.

Got a chuckle seeing the Lakers break the 27 year old record for worst FT shooting performance.

If you think 11 million per is not to bad for a franchises cap while being injured or terrible you need to look at Hedo or Biedrins on the same team for a prime example that it is, especially with the deals they have in Lee, Biedrins, and Bogut eating a majority of their space. Also Steph is extremely injury pron having come off a pretty serious ankle surgery and having already twisted it up once in preseason, I would be shocked if he averaged 50 games per season for the duration of his contract.
Also Eric Gordon played I believe less than 8 games all of last season and I dont believe has played more that 70% in any season he has been in the league, so if you think thats grounds for a max deal it is not I my friend who is delusional about who is over or underpaid in this league.
