LeBron just wants someone that will get the team playing defense. He'll take care of the offense. Mike Brown did it for him. Lue... I don't even know what Lue did. Stayed out of the way?

Bron got Vogel, not a defensive Coach. This should get interesting. I predict Bron ends up like Dwights time with the Lakers, competetion wise.

Vogel is a defensive coach, just not a good one anymore.

Thays because he had hibbert protecting the paint and Pg out on the perimeter. I dont think his defensive playbook is that thick either.
Weak minded players sometimes need a pat on the bottom and a medal for doing their job and hes good at that.

Its funny but i think he is quite good fit for them actually. Weltman knew when good coaches will be available. Clifford, Nurse, Casey, Budenholzer. Lakers didnt have much choice, but its only their fault. Vogel has Lebron instead of offensive scheme, Lebron and Kidd to hold players accountable, Kidd for development and in game adjudtments, Lakers FO for excuse. Perfect match

Article on Vogel's fit in LA. BB Index seems to think its not that bad, though it kind of feels like author is trying hard to find the positive

...this line made me want to kick a wall:

"But in Vogel’s case, the data lines up well with the ineptitude that can be seen even at the highest of levels, and actually indicates that Vogel’s teams were under performing their offensive talent levels."

...well at least it made it less likely that Vucevic and LAL talk big $ this summer...can't imagine Vucevic wants to give that another try.

Yes unfortunately GOT seems to have reached Dexter, lost levels of bad. Very Michael Bay esque now. Bummer for a show that was on an all time great trajectory until they ran out of source material

I left the episode relatively satisfied, and didn't find anything about the character arc's that surprising. I thought they've been building it for the last 2.5 seasons. The pacing has been an issue since last season, and that's a fair gripe. The writing I'd argue has actually never been otherworldly, but it's a fantasy show about dragons and zombies, so it's hard to nitpick IMHO.

I am concerned about how they plan to resolve all the remaining conflicts in only 1 more episode. I think the battle scene was great eye candy, but it probably didn't need to be that long? Or at least have another episode to tie the loose ends.

Interesting nugget from Woj in his Beilein to Cavs article...

Beilein, 66, has entertained thoughts about the NBA for several years and had detailed discussions with two franchises -- the Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons -- last year before deciding to return to Michigan.

To be honest, I've watched the first two episodes and have been like eh, don't have that bindge feeling. I'll watch them all eventually.

He did a great job at Michigan but it can be a tough transition for some college coaches to the the NBA.

Circle is also charachter arc i guess ( Jamie) . But with 80 min left it will be choppy end of show. They could really use additional 2 episodes.
I get whole point of Danny going full Mad Queen mode, but they could show it little more through years imo.

At least it didn't turn into love story of Jon and Danny

On postive note i think book will have similar ending, with GJJ Martin hating war and showing true results of war and power hungry lords, destruction of humanity.
