In conclusion: I'd be SHOCKED if Murray was in Atlanta next year. Also, with the Spurs, Murray was a good team defender. I think he can fit well in a scheme.

That said: I don't thunk the Magic has the assets Atlanta wants. Draft picks is not going to do it, nor is Black and Howard.
Maybe something around Carter, but even that seems unlikely. The Magic like Carter, for example.

Anfernee Simons is the same basic kind of addition as Murray, and here, draft assets and Black / Howard does get it done. The Blazers has no interest in trying to win next year.

I agree, Murray would be a perfect fit (if the beef with Paolo is over)

Murray, AB, Cole
Suggs, Jett , Harris
Franz, Houstan, Jett
PB, Moe
JI,wcj,goga

However, he ll be expensive to get
Suggs, AB, Tyus, Jase
Bane, AB, TDS , Jett
Franz, TDS, Panda
P5, JI, Panda, Moe
Wcj, Goga, Moe

I thought the luxury tax would prevent all this overspending?

Murray and Simons are very different players though. I think Murray is much better, and despite his mediocre shooting, i like his fit more.

A trade with the Hawks would likely either have to be a 3 team trade, or the Hawks take future picks that they can later flip for other players.

Fair deal, but my god, suns luxury tax bill is gonna be massive

Summer free agency is gonna be fun

I think I would trade a Frp for Caruso and offer another 1+1 to Gary Harris

The Suns probably had no choice but to extend him if they are serious about competing. Sucks for us.

Fine for me. He´s a nice player but IMO not a really big upgrade compared to Harris. We need another kind of guard first, a ball handler, scorer, before we should adress the perfect complimentary role players next to our big 4 (Banchero, Franz, Suggs, lead guard)

Tough decision for players to extend vs hitting free agency. We'll still have a good selection of roleplayers though.

He set up the Price 17.5M per

My FA list

Pg13 (unlikely)
Murray (too expensive)
KCP
Caruso (might be time for bulls to cash in, he is expiring, a FRP)
Monk (If 18M)
GTJ (if very cheap)
Harris (1+1)
Suggs, AB, Tyus, Jase
Bane, AB, TDS , Jett
Franz, TDS, Panda
P5, JI, Panda, Moe

Welcome back Gary Harris!

All these players getting extensions.

Are the Kings able to extend Monk and if so why hasn’t it happened? It seems pretty clear he is an important piece.

Are they low balling him? Have eyes set on someone else?

And-2

Most of the above is nonsense. The Magic cannot afford half of what is posted here.

Banchero, F-Wagner, and Suggs will combine for 100M a year as three contracts, starting in 2025/26 (kicking in for 2026/27). That will leave about 70M to plus out another 9 roster slots; which is already some 20M over what the cap will be then.

My heart is set on a Fultz replacement/ upgrade with better health and shooting.

We should still be able to achieve that.

Grayson off the board, would have been nice to add his spacing

He's probably the best 3 point shooting role player in the league.

46% on threes on nearly 6 att per game is scorching it pretty much any way you look at it

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

I give the edge overall to Murray, but then you have to adjust for cost. What does it cost to get Simons vs Murray. It likely takes a minimum of 2 picks plus a player, maybe 3 picks, for Murray. Simons should be a lot less. Simons a better shooter, Murray a better passer and defender. depends to me a lot on how much PG responsibilities can Suggs handle.

A guy that can hit 7 3s in a half would be a huge upgrade over Gary. And I like Gary.

unpopular opinion.

Suggs will be point guard.

Fultz + G Harris will be jetisoned and their salary applied to a singular guard for all the minutes.

That being said, I like G Harris, if we can retain him on a team friendly deal he will be excellent for us.

I dont think Allen skillset is what we need the most so i dont care much about his extension. I would be angry if Russell, Jones, Hartenstein got extended.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Absolute rule, cannot break rule, is to avoid bringing in an offensive option that steps on Paolo's toes.

Second rule, don't block AB.
