Here in Orlando, he didn't handle the ball that much, Nelson did

Carter has a huge problem playing off-the-ball... and thus he becomes inconsistent, and will put up 15/2/2 instead

But he's still a natural jumper (he can still do 360 dunks and stuff), and he can attack the basket, but not as consistent and frequent... but if the Suns medical staff can keep him healthy and Nash and his teammates motivate him (which they will), Vince will flourish in Phoenix... plus, you have his expiring contract

Also, don't overlook Gortat... he's a starting Center quality player... and Pietrus is a good wing defender, and he's great in open transition... but he takes dumb shots from the wings and corners... but he's still relatively young, and with Nash passing to him, he can score in bunches as well

J-Rich is a much better fit for this team than Vince Carter was. That's a huge difference.

Agreed on that front. J-Rich is an upgrade to Carter (both in terms of athletic skill and spot up shooting ability). He can play the no. 3 option role to a TEE.

But giving up Gortat, MP and a 1st for Turkey Glue and Earl Clark is what pains me.

We're in total agreement, bro.

J-Rich is an upgrade because he doesn't need the offense ran through him to be effective. He's a good slasher and spot-up shooter, whereas with Vince he needs to be able to run the offense. And in SVG's system, it just wasn't going to happen.

Ugh, the more I think about the Phoenix deal, the more I worry. VC for J-Rich fine. But Gortat+Pietrus+1st for Hedu and Earl Clark? FOR REAL?!!!!!

I guess you didn't tire of Pietrus chucking and getting .0001 rebounds per game and Gortats dropping every pass thrown to him around the basket. Jeeez we could get Adonal Foyle back to give Dwight a breather and Hedo is a huge upgrade over Pietrus.

From an outsiders perspective...I think you guys "done good". As a Celtic fan I can tell you that for the last 3 years (including his time in Charlotte) JRich has been a match up nightmare for the Celtics. I'm not sure if he has something personal against the Celtics in general or Pierce in particular, but he relishes giving them/him the business.

Rashard For Arenas = We win. Arenas is out to prove something, Rashard called it quits awhile ago.

J.Rich >> VC. Younger, plays better D and plays aggressively while slashing.

Dwight will make Hedo look like the one of old. The mismatches are finally back. Hedo to D12 Alley Oops are finally back.

I would have been pissed if we traded VC's expiring for Arenas, But Shard for Arenas is just fine.

No worries WillyJakk. Yeah, it is quite the overhaul. I guess time will tell. Like most things, this could either be really good or really bad. I don't think we'll have a gray area here. The team is going to be badass or just fall apart.
