Hope it's JRich on the way out - one great game doesn't sway my opinion of him. I agree with the statement about JJ's contract having the most value, but if Dwight leaves, the Magic would be stupid to get rid of the guy the crowd cheers most for.

I also wonder, as many of you are, if there are additional moves coming down the pike. If Otis can pull off trading for a better PG, I will renounce every bad thing I've ever said about him.

I'm not overrating, but genuinely asking.

Wow...Dude just asked a question...damn.

ANYWAY :o JR Smith is a proven scorer where as Von is probablly a poor mans version of Smith. Both can create and shoot but Smith is better at it.

If the rumor is true then one of JJ or JRich is being moved no way around it. Personally I think he's an upgrade over JJ from an offensive standpoint. From an IQ perspective.....not so much and that worries me considering how much new players struggle with stan.

In other news...

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/219012/Kevin_Martin_Unhappy_With_Passive_Role_In_Offense_Lack_Of_Playing_Time

Kevin Martin had his first scoreless game as a starter in a 93-83 loss to the Grizzlies on Tuesday. Martin attempted three shots in just 19 minutes of action, but would not say that he should be more of a focal point of the offense.

“I don’t need plays for me to get going," Martin said. "I’ve been successful in my career just getting in the flow of the game. I’m over there chilling. It is what it is at the moment.”

Martin’s frustration was more about getting benched.

“Sometimes, it’s nothing about the number of shots,” Martin said. “It seems like a lot of things have changed in the past two weeks.

“If we’re winning and I’m sitting, I’m happy. Tonight, we got beat and I’m on a 10-day contract leash. I’m not happy about that just because we lost. If we’re winning, I’ll sit over there for 48 minutes.”

If we get Smith...what would it take to get Sessions from Cleveland as our starting PG.

Sessions
Smith
Turk/Q
Anderson
Dwight

How's Sessions on D??

In a word, awful.

If it doesn't involve creating in the pick and roll or seeing the floor, Ramon Sessions probably shouldn't be asked to do it. Outside of his passing and his nasty floater, he isn't all that great.

I was looking at Kevin's stats the past few games... and I was scratching my head at his numbers. Now this explains it.

IDK if I want a near 30 year old Kevin Martin... BUT! ... maybe we can use Houston as a trade partner to snatch a good player (Ellis?)

I think the new rule change affected Martin more than any other player in the league.

Stan would play him if he didn't have a choice; JRich & JJ being traded.

Hmm....so our SG position would be Smith/Wafer?

Not bad.

I think it's safe to say that we will attempt a trade and that JJ or JRich (or maybe even both) will be included. Assuming that it's a trade to try to convince Dwight to stay.

I like this lineup, a lot.

Does anyone know what the Cavs are in need of right now?

I believe the trade restrictions are dropped after March the 1st.

J-Rich needs to kick rocks.....Too inconsistent and virtually brings nothing to the table that Redick can't emulate

That.

Don't get me wrong, Wafer is a great player (way better than I expected),he and Smith have the same style of play. Which just happens to be exactly what this team needs.

All of you that are screaming about Wafer getting more minutes would love JR.

I still cant believe you called him a bench warmer... The only reason he came off the bench for denver its because they had melo and billups dominate the ball so much with the first unit... While hedo and jameer both handle the ball for us, they are nowhere near the level of anthony and billups. Also the nuggets had no scoring from the bench, and needed a perimeter defender in the starting lineup... Since we have jj off the beech as well as jrich in this case there is no need for smiths bench scoring. We also don't have a perimeter defender and we won't be getting one any time soon, so start JR because it makes sense... But then again stan doesn't usually do things that make sense so, I could see him burying smith on the bench for 34 minutes a have and then expecting him to still be hot come 4th quarter

FYI. JR Smith still came off the bench last year with Aflalo, Wilson Chandler and Andre Miller. This is even though he had been in Karls system a few years already. People shouldn't annoint someone a star without actually watching him for an entire game based on highlights and stats.

I will bet you $100 right now that JR Smith will not be a starter over JRich OR JJ if the Magic sign him barring injury. JR Smith has been coming off the bench for 6 years. People should ask themselves, "How has he earned a starting spot on a Stan Van Gundy team?" I agree that JR Smith can start on a few teams in this league, but not on Stans club. Won't happen. I think too many people read into stats and fantastic ESPN highlights. They don't watch those players the whole game. If we just go on ability, then Von Wafer and Ish Smith would be the starters. I like JR Smith and he will be a valuable 2nd unit role player for sure. Make it happen Otis.

Wow... :o

Your not going to get Ellis..who did you even give up? JJ and that's it?? Let's be realistic...

Getting Smith is realistic b/c we can offer him the most money. Then getting Sessions or Nash via trade is also a realistic option and both are pass first PGs, exactly what we need. Smith/Anderson/Dwight is all the offense we need from our first unit. Bring in Turk with JJ and Baby in the second unit and you have a championship level team that does it all.
