I suggest a 3 team trade between Dallas/Detroit/Magic
were we trade Jrich and get Rodney Stuckey and Tayshaun Prince.

Chad Ford say's the C's are after Peaches.
Looks like we'll be on the other end of those contested, fade-away daggers with 19 seconds remaining on the shot clock.

Nobody's scared of Peaces. Plus he wouldn't have the ball in his hands anyway.

Bos must remember all those daggers Pietrus threw at them in the 2009 playoffs.

Someone better show him where the sideline boundaries are.

Re: THE Trade Deadline Thread
i don't like the way things are shaping up for us. i think most people agree that this team needs another star player beside Dwight, so let's look at what teams they play for and their possible availability:
Atlanta
no real 'star' players. good-great players in Smith and Johnson, but no stars. doesn't matter, because Atlanta won't deal with us anyway
Boston
won't deal with us.
Charlotte
no star players. Wallace + Jackson potentially available.
Chicago
won't deal with us.
Cleveland
no star players. do we really want Jamison?
Dallas
Dirk, Kidd. not a chance Mark Cuban will give away his best pieces. unless he thinks Anderson is Dirk 2.0?
Denver
no stars (anymore). Nene, Afflalo, Gallinari, Chandler on the team. good role players, but not great enough to put this team over the top.
Detroit
no star players. Stuckey, Gordon, Prince, Hamilton could all be useful to a championship team, but wouldn't be the final piece and most of them are overpaid.
Golden State
star-lite Ellis, Curry. say what you want, but i'd put Monta in a limbo between star player and great player. he's better than just a great player, but he's not quite a star. either way, GS seem to be rebuilding a legit team this time. i can't imagine they'll just give Lee, Ellis or Curry away unless they get a stud talent in return. we don't have studs to swap for them.
Houston
no stars. good players, but no stars.
Indiana
star-lite - Granger. he, like Ellis, is in that limbo just below star player status. i think that adding someone like him would make a tremendous difference to the team. the likelihood of Indy giving him up on the other hand....
LA Clippers
Griffin, Gordon. Griffin is a star, Gordon is a great player. the Clips, however, have no need to deal with us unless they're getting a steal of a deal because they are in great shape as far as flexibility to add players.
LA Lakers
not dealing with us, unless it's for Howard.
Memphis
star-lite Gay, ZBo. IMO, Gay would be a great piece to put alongside Dwight. he's in limbo, but he's still so young and full of so much potential. ZBo is just a monster in the paint and on the boards. this team is in position to jump as high as 5th in the west. but they're also looking at possibly losing ZBo in the summer.
Miami
not dealing with us.
Milwaukee
Bogut, Jennings. we don't need Bogut, and they won't give either of those guys up. other notables are Maggette.
Minnesota
Love, Beasley. unless either of those guys demands a trade, we won't see them. still, we've yet to see if their performance can translate to W's.
New Jersey
Deron, Lopez. as if they're going to throw away the great pieces it took them so long to aquire.
New Orleans
Paul. this, is one of our best chances. even then, it's beyond slim. Paul being traded to any team will be seen as the NBA doing someone else a favour. besides, the NBA might just be holding on to him in hope of a franchise tag in the CBA. if that happens, we're screwed.
New York
not dealing with us.
Oklahoma
Durant, Westbrook, Green. not dealing with us.
Philadelphia
no stars, but they have Iggy and Brand. i said in the summer i'd have made a deal that absorbed both Brand and Iggy's contracts. Brand is coming to life again, Iggy is reliable, and Phili are competing for a playoff spot. i don't see us being able to make a deal with them, and neither player alone will put us over the top, BUT, they would make us a better team, IMO.
Phoenix
Nash. this is our best chance. let's hope he pushes to be traded to a team that can chase a ring for his last few seasons. even then, it would be a short lived window, and he's a FA after next season.
Portland
Aldridge. Portland have just turned the team over to him, we aren't getting him. they have nice, young wings in Batum and Matthews who would be nice additions, but what have we got to offer them? they're looking to go young and lose Dre, so unless it was a Dre + Matthews for Nelson + Anderson kind of deal, i don't see them biting. even then, why would they need another PF?
Sacramento
no stars, but they have Evans. he has a lot of ability, but it's yet to be seen if his talent can win games.
San Antonio
Duncan, Manu, Parker. not dealing with us whilst they're still in contention.
Toronto
no stars, but they have Bargs. we have Anderson already.
Utah
no stars, but they do have Harris, AJ and Millsap. not sure any would put us over the top, though.
Washington
Wall. they aren't giving him up.
the possibilities for this team to acquire another star player are thinning by the day, and it very well may come down to this team continuing in the mold it's built. 1 star and another 2-4 great players. if that's the case, we need to look for the best "great" players, and players like Wallace, Iggy, Zbo all become relevant again.
or we can cross our fingers and hope Arenas rises like a phoenix, or Anderson actually does become Dirk 2.0....

MitchellUK wrote:I'm going to throw this out there - Andre Kirilenko. Long, active, good defender, and Utah is now overloaded in the frontcourt with Okur, Jefferson, Favours, Millsap, Kirilenko, Fesenko and Haywood.
J-Rich for Kirilenko straight up. Both are expiring deals, but it saves Utah $3m in the short term and gives them a better balance to their roster. We get an active body who can defend the four and the three.
i like AK. at the start of the season i was hoping the Magic could have swapped Lewis for AK, just for the cap space. he can pass the ball as well, so he'd be a nice 3/4 rotation for us.
only problem is that we'd be down to JJ and Arenas at the 2.

Watch this mother **** Otis stand pat and not even sign a free agent big man.
He'll think that Ryan Anderson works as a backup center and when the playoffs come and when Dwight gets in foul trouble we'd be outscored by 40 points.

The man is an idiot and I can't wait either... its the little things too, like calling VC fools gold one year and trading for him the next. Then telling portland they dodged a bullet when hedo didn't sign, then trading for him the next year... Keep putting your foot in your mouth Otis. You don't have much longer. Hopefully.

I'm still in complete shock the the Jazz traded Deron Williams. And with Wallace likely headed to Portland, it's looking like Randolph might be our best option. Unless of course Nash is on the market.

Little off topic here, but IF we do win it all this year is it almost a lock that dwight extends with the magic? Winning it this year, make it less of a priority to sign a first tier star in 2012?

ChrisBroussard I'm told Cavs-Bobcats talks about Wallace are dead. Wallace didn't want to be in Cleveland anyway. Portland talks real serious. via twitter
