Tonight is the last night to trade for players who will still be eligible to trade before the deadline, doesn't look like NJ will pull off Mayo in time.

Dwight Howard says he would love to play with Monta Ellis dlvr.it/15Mrpk
The world's best center wants to play with Ellis, but Howard doesn't want to be teamed with the scoring dynamo in the Bay Area.
"Well, you know, I like Monta - his desire to win," Howard said. "He's just been one of those players I've watched since he was in high school, and even coming up in the league. I felt like he doesn't get a lot of credit that he deserves, because he comes in, he plays hard every night, and yeah, I've said before that I'd love to play with him.
"We both have that same drive to win. That's all I care about is people who will go out there and put everything on the line."
YO OTIS, WHERE YA AT?

Otis Smith was asked about Dwight Howard's recent comments and his reply was "I like this team"

If only Monta wanted out of Golden State. Has there been any sort of rumbling about Monta wanting out?

I don`t understand why Dwight isn't a recruiter?
This is just a list of unrestricted veterans for next season.
Point Guards:Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Andre Miller, Chauncey Billups and Baron Davis.
Shooting guards: Ray Allen
Power Forward: Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Antawn Jamison.
Centers: Marcus Camby, Jermaine O`neal and Nazr Mohamad
If Howard focuses his attention on the Magic he could recruit some nice veterans. We would obviously need to make some moves to gain capspace. My trades would be:
Orlando trades: Jameer Nelson
receives: Lakers TPE, LAL pick
Orlando trades: Jason Richardson and Daniel Orton
receives: Martell Webster and Brad Miller. Both are non-guaranteed

Watching the suns vs san Antonio game right now. We need to do something to get Nash this season. If I was Otis I'd be calling the suns everyday trying to work something out. He can still get in the lane and runs the pick and roll to perfection with gortat. Can only imagine how happy Dwight would be running the pick and roll with him and hedo all game.
Maybe a Nelson, Ryno, liggins for Nash and Lopez would get it done. I'd see if I could work something out without giving Ryno or jj first but if we had to I'd take the hit to get him.

I wish there was a way to rent a guy for one game just to see how he'd do with your squad. The only time I've seen Dwight play with another point guard was Olympics or All-star game and it's a different type of basketball. I'd like to see a game or two with Nash or Deron at point with the rest of our squad just to get a taste of that that would bring.

Said this before the season. Over half this board will just tell you how washed up he is, and how stupid of a move that would be, because he is old. Completely neglecting the fact he LED THE LEAGUE IN ASSISTS last year, is avg over TEN assists a game this year, shooting over 50%, all while playing with a complete bunch of scrubs. The same people who prob talked smack about J-Kidd in Dallas before they won a championship (which they wouldn't have won without him).
Oh, another big problem....Nash is an amazingly stand-up classy guy. Dwight only wants people who have issues in their past (Baby - getting into it with fans, Monta - sexual harrassment charge, Deron - forced himself out of Utah, got Sloan to retire, Stephen Jackson - brawl at Palace)..

A (probably futile) plea to the fanbase. Please stop perpetuating the whole male being p-whipped thing pleeeeeeeeeeease? After firmly believing Dwight has been swayed by his fiancee, as Melo was....and then seeing Ryno's latest tweet. Ugh. This goes back to Samson and Delilah type stuff......grow some balls. Think with your brain, please. Thanks.

Ryan tweeted a picture of a girl, saying she was beautiful. Maybe his GF? Not exactly how that perpetuates "the whole male being p-whippe thing", but meh.

So, are people here saying they have never been pussy whipped? That you are above being greatly enamored by a woman. Women do command much control.

If we trade for Nash we shouldn't give up Anderson... Anderson would be even better with Nash...unfortunately we should give up jj as the main guy along with meer, some rookies and some picks... I really like the starting lineup of
Nash/j rich/Von/Anderson/ dhow
With Turk playing 6th man and closing games

Dwight and/or his agent needs to just stfu... his teammates are carrying his low-effort whiny *** every other game... we're still winning games... so full of BS... honestly I don't even care anymore... trade him, don't trade him, let him walk... whatever. Over it. Magic will move on either way.

Lots of good info in that article, including the reason we signed J Rich instead of Jamal Crawford.
We totally signed J Rich just to keep Dan Fegan happy. Maybe this "rift" between Fegan and Dwight is a good thing.
The Magic have been doing everything within their powers to influence Howard to stay, and one source who believes there has been a recent rift between Howard and Fegan said Orlando’s decision to sign Jason Richardson ($25 million over four years) instead of Jamal Crawford (who got $10 million for two years from Portland) was influenced by the fact that Fegan is Richardson’s agent, and the Magic want to keep Fegan happy.

Yet another option for Howard is remaining with the Magic for the 2012-13 season and collecting his $19.54 million salary, then making his big free agency move in the summer of 2013. But several sources cautioned that staying another year in Orlando is a long shot, given Howard’s hot-and-cold relationships with coach Stan Van Gundy and general manager Otis Smith.

I`m pissed if it`s true, how can an agent dictate the moves of an organization? Otis try to improve the team not please a freaking agent.
