I think Karl would do wonders for our young players and we would see a lot less of BG and WG.

I say hire Karl, one of the best coach in league history, even if it's for 3 years. Our young guys can benefit greatly from his wisdom and they will respect him and like him. Then worry about another coach after. The Magic said they wanted a proven winner with experience and Karl clearly fits those qualities.

Yep, Karl is exactly the type of coach this team needs right now. You know what you're going to get with him and there's no doubt in my mind he can develop these guys right and build this team into a winner. This would be the last job of one of the all time best NBA coaches. He's going to be motivated to win, and he has more knowledge and experience than all the other rumored coaches combined, which is desperately needed right now. You also make a huge statement with Karl and I think that would be a great thing for the players and even the fans. I'd still be happy with a guy like Malone, but I just think Karl is the way to go.

Didn't the Kings say publicly that Corbin was interim for the rest of the season?

As much as I like Karl, I'm not sure Hennigan/Martins would like his current social media toying efforts about the coaching job. It just doesn't seem like their style of communication (which is all behind the scenes).

Guys we shouldn't be getting so hyped about getting Karl. Knowing our franchise you're in for a HUGE LETDOWN. Just wait it out and see what happens.

with 30 games left in the season - which is better:

(1) finish the tank with Borrego - hire new coach in the offseason - end up with a top 5 pick...that means we add one of these guys to the roster:

(2) hire George Karl - he likely turns things around enough to get us close to an 9-10th seed - and we end up with a mid lottery pick ...that means we end up with:

I like Karl, but this team needs talent more - in my opinion. Option 1 is how I'd go...

This.

As much as I respect Stan for what he did during his tenure here, him and his brother are so full of hypocritical **** it's unreal.

He talks about following the Magic; how about following the team he now coaches? The Pistons have been through coaches like underwear over recent years. And I didn't see him crying for Joe Dumars when he lost his job as Pistons GM. Neither did he cry for Brian Hill when he replaced him as Magic coach. This constant sniping is one of the reasons David Stern had an issue with Stan. He needs

Well, I like Stan, and tbh, its just one of his traits to be honest. He doesn't exactly say whats politically correct, but often time he has a point.

btw, hows it going in Edinburgh? I was there last Christmas. Loved that city.

I dont care if we could get the #1 pick by tanking, Im done watching this team lose. We have stockpiled enough talent over the last couple of years to be a much better team. I like the players we have and with the right leadership I think the future is bright. This losing mentality needs to go. That is not what you want to have instilled in the players head. We are not the 76rs; we dont start every season with the mentality to tank and get high picks. Lets bring this team together and get on that +0.5 mentality.

Assuming the Magic want an 1) experienced, 2) winning coach...

Winning (.500+ win%) NBA head coaches who coached as recently as 2000 or later, and who are not currently employed as an NBA head coach/GM/Owner, etc. Ordered by win%. [Most recent season coaching] (Highest playoff success)

.616 - Mike Brown [2014] (NBA Finals)
.603 - Jerry Sloan [2011] (NBA Finals, 2x)
.599 - George Karl [2013] (NBA Finals)
.582 - Rick Adelman [2014] (NBA Finals, 2x)
.577 - Avery Johnson [2013] (NBA Finals)
.575 - Jeff Van Gundy [2007] (NBA Finals)
.559 - Rudy Tomjanovich [2005] (Championship, 2x)
.557 - Don Nelson [2010] (Conf Finals, 4x)
.549 - Mike Fratello [2007] (2nd Round, 3x)
.548 - Larry Brown [2011] (Championship)
.542 - Tony DiLeo [2009] (1st Round)
.536 - Lenny Wilkens [2005] (Championship)
.533 - Vinny Del Negro [2013] (2nd Round)
.533 - Paul Westphal [2012] (NBA Finals)
.526 - Mark Jackson [2014] (2nd Round)
.521 - Doug Collins [2013] (Conf Finals)
.516 - Mike D'Antoni [2014] (Conf Finals, 2x)
.514 - Bob Hill [2007] (Conf Finals)
.514 - Nate McMillan [2012] (2nd Round)
.506 - Scott Skiles [2013] (2nd Round, 2x)

Note: rumored candidates Alvin Gentry (.475, [2013], Conf Finals) and Mike Malone (.368, [2015], N/A) did not qualify.

Karl had G.Payton. Just imagine what he can do for E.Payton. Maybe even have GP talk to EP as a mentor?
