Just a quick question, but where do you watch the GL play?

ESPN+ has carried most of the games well. Easy to go back and catch up after.

Kuminga is quietly just 5-27 from three through 5 G-League games.

Green isn't that far off. 7-23 (30%).
Kuminga at least stuffs other stat sheets, Green has in 5 games 10 assists and 15 turnovers.

As i've mentioned before i have no clue how to validate and measure anything that happends in G league.

I mean Jordan Bone scored 23 on 8/14 FG...

I am less and less interested in 2021 draft. I like Suggs and to some extent Cunningham at the top. Lets go for for the play in there is not much to tank for this year.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

LMAO! Yeah, best we don’t tank and hope to add a player who will supplant Vuc as the best player. Don’t want any challengers to buddy ball cos clearly they’re a contending force to be reckoned with.

J. Green showcases every game why he is another shooting gaurd without jumpshot.
Kuminga looks like Paul George without any smoothnes or realiable jumpshot. Ronda Hollis Jefferson type.

That game also reminded me why nobody should ever draft anybody on upside alone. Skal Labissiere and his "unlimited potential"

I am not yet very familiar with next years draft but i heard great things about Chet. Its hard to tell in advance, but this year is dissapointing me.
Drafting high in most cases is a trap for stupid GMs who think that trading all your veterans while overpaying middling young talent who plays only becouse there is no one better on the team is recipe for success.
I am not against losing with talent injured, i am not even against trading Gordon or Fournier if the return is right. I am against stripping the roster of most veterans to draft solid but unspectatular talent in high lottery and giving minutes to undeserving players.

TLDR for pictogram users.

There is lot of blind hype going around this draft, that doesn't mean magic should not tank. But it's time to actually re-evaluate quality of draft.

This is first outlook from my perspective

Chade Cunnigham does not have elite athletic skills nor he is advanced playmaker. That does not mean he sucks or he will suck in NBA but it's fair to assume his high dribbling , negative assist to turnover ratio, mediocre efficiecny , low based FG% won't lead toward superstar in nba, where he will look even slower, less athletic and won't beat anybody off the dribble.
So some safty net in terms of comparison is Gordon Hayward, poor man Luka Doncic /James Harden without isolation nor passing chops. Probably closer to Evan Fournier than anybody is ready to admit.

Kuminga. He is not bad prospect but he is flat out terrible fit for Orlando. Yet another tweener without jumpshot nor polished offense. He will probably end up being career PF regardless. Rich man Aminu, Ronda Hollis Jefferson without huge upgrades in his shooting stroke. Those "he should be playmaker " comments made my day few days ago.

Green. Pairing Fultz with Green would be biggest slap in nuts since they paired Oladipo with Payton. Just fundamentally stupid and pointless.

Mobley- Center. No thanks.

Basseey- PF/C no thanks.

So whole Magic tanking comes down to drafting Suggs or Moses Moody.
You know draft is treading toward- not really good, when in top 10 you have 3rd year college point guard who is 21 y.o. and will be 22 y.o. rookie.

Once again, this does not mean Magic should not be ingaged into getting as good as it's possible draft pick. But this narrative how amazing this draft is is simply false.

Just few months ago this board was ready to pair picks and players for Jarret Culver and Coby White.

There will always be interesting young players that fans will overvalue and ones that will fly under a radar.

Why? So you can watch Vucevic and Fournier for a complete decade of bad - mediocre basketball?

Or are you saying that Orlando doesn’t need an elite level player at the expense of having a sub .500 record and a few more first round exits? I don’t understand this infatuation with needing to see Vucevic on a successful Magic roster. It’s probably never going to happen.

There is such little trade value on this roster that earning a top 5 pick would be Orlando’s best asset, whether that becomes realized or not. Clifford running vets 35+mpg to squeeze out wins prevents that from happening at the expense of nothing substantial in the slightest.

draft is probably our only realistic way to add good young talent....no big time free agent is walking through the door....no team really values what we have in trades to get anything that really moves the needle

I agree we need elite ball handler to contend but i cant see him in 2021 draft right now.
Lets say we trade Vucevic, Gordon and Fournier and get number 5 pick which is the most likely outcome. Lets say Green is the next Wiggins and Kuminga is the next Aaron Gordon. How that makes us better in the long run ? Even Suggs and Cunningham are far from sure things and propably a tier 2/3 players.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !
