Jabari’s improvement this summer is big.

Tonight he has to create most of his shots. Even put down the ball to drive.

Obviously still summer league, but he has shown more versatility on offense this summer compared to last year and even dating back to his college days. Great improvement.

He needs to make friends with FVV or else he's going to be the 6th option on the court with the rest of those gunners.

With his height, jump-lift, and technique, his jumper is unguardable in the NBA. He can easily be the Rashard Lewis of his generation.

I know nothing about Kai Sotto but thought it was weird we were putting a SG at the PF spot when they were playing two centers. Is Kai really that bad??

Might as well play Kai…can’t be much worse than DJ Wilson. It’s not workable to bungle uncontested rebounds in a tight game-even at the YMCA. I respect DJ still fighting for his Bball life, but no bueno.

Kevon looked strong …why the hell is he there? And why are they giving him so many minutes in the Kobe role?
(Sit down old man, we’re trying to see what we’ve got here…even just for Osceola)
kai sotto said dylan murphy talked to the 5 players who got dnp-cd, the priority is to give minutes first to the players under contract.

To me this is the best thing that happened to kai, he gets less exposure against nba talent.

There is huge news on this today. A couple reflections. i) why do we care about a Sotto as player that would struggle to make a G-league roster? And ii) how is Wilson the answer to any question the Magic might have?

Right now I see four players on the Summer League that will be part of the Magic's preseason. Black, Houstan, K-Harris, and Howard. I am also keeping my eye on Baker, another "contracted" player for the Magic organization. So: that's five players total that have my Summer League attention.

Good comp. Lewis brings back fond memories. Ah, the amount of angst over his contract kept the threads flowing!

Sotto is on tryout for a 2-way spot. I can see the intrigue. The Magic did bring him in for a workout last year. He was part of the Gleague ignite batch of Kuminga. But he had to go back to the Philippines.

Wilson is from our dleague team.

Sotto is handled by the Wasserman group. Perhaps he is in the lineup as a favor? Wasserman handles notable NBA players like SGA, Klay, etc.

Personally, I don’t really care about Sotto. I don’t think he is ready to play in the NBA. But I think he is being talked about is because of the fans that supports Kai.

Honestly, I feel bad for the kid. I hope he doesnt succumb to pressure.

Back from the weekend. Checked on threads and AB performance. Thoughts so far.

Keyonte : A volume shooter into a volume scorer. Maybe he can translate to the NBA well see. I am hyped.

AB : Looked good in game 1 debut. If he keeps this type of performance up, I would say the starting PG spot his the first losing streak we have where the starters don't fall behind to start off.

Mr Howard : I cannot feel any more "meh" at the moment especially when my guy Keyonte is taring it up at the moment. He hasn't disappeared, but he hasn't done anything to show case any ceiling higher then a roll player. But it is just one game as they say.

Houstan : Looks like a solid roll player coming along nicely. Howard should have a good time fighting him for minutes when he is clearly better at this phase.

My son turned 12 today, its been crazy as his birthday seems to be taking up the entire month with all the stuff going on so far.

Caught AB highlights with the run of And 1s.
Will get a chance to watch the full game live to catch more of his defense and general feel for the game.

Looking forward to seeing the reaction if Howard has a great shooting night also.

I really love black and think he will be good to great but this game did show why he shouldn’t be the starting PG and maybe why any rookie shouldn’t be a starting PG on a team trying to compete. He is going to be a turnover machine as he gets up to speed on the nba and what passes he can and can’t get away with.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

He is probably going to be very inconsistent in his first couple of years, have some good games like game 2 and some bad games like game 1. The media expectations are severely out of hand though and need to be tempered because its going to take him a while to gain strength and get the guard play out of his mind.
