Maybe I’m a homer, but I really think we’re able to net a quality PG withOUT trading Suggs (or any of the core).

This is not to say Suggs is untouchable, but it would truly be a travesty if Weltman can’t pull something off with the tangible assets we currently have and we never get to see our homegrown players play with a PG that’s a difference maker.

Elite GM’s always find a way. It will cost us in draft equity of course, but for the right player it may be worth it.

If we're not trading Suggs then we can either only trade for players who are on rookie contracts or reasonable extensions. Anyone for the price point like Garland wont be attainable. Also there will be potential depth questions

Moving Suggs isnt what I want to do, I absolutely love Suggs and I was a truther for him when most thought he was a bust. I love what he stands for and means for the team. It's what our hand is being forced to make.

I just learned of a a 2023 CBA exemption that makes 2nd-round picks more valueable. It is called, "Second-round pick exception".

Here it is: "The second-round pick exception allows teams to sign their second-round draft picks for up to four years without counting against the cap until July 31 of the player's first season."

I do not see Suggs being traded while he is injured. I can be wrong it is fine.

I would think that there "has to be a deal" out there so long as they don't remain sticklers for Paolo / Franz / Suggs / AB. IMHO anyone else I am ok with being departed.

The Magic's salary line is tight in 2025/26 and 2026/27, and then softens considerably. The exponential growth of the cap, going up 10% each year over the next six-seven years will really help Orlando. A 50M a year contract will only be 20% of the cap in 2030-31

Nah. It would immediately put us in contention mode and gives us a small two season window to win a championship which seems very unrealistic (Giannis can will opt out in 2027).

Don’t think our brass has the cojones to try and I don’t blame them tbh.

If OKC loses they should do everything in their power to get him. Shi, they should probably do it regardless lol

It's possible we could get FVV out of a Giannis deal. I would imagine the Bucks would want picks over FVV. Green would potentially be available. Vassell might be available if he goes to the Spurs.

Miami is a wildcard. I heard Kushner's brother just bought a piece of the Heat, and they have deep pockets. I'm sure Miami would leave us out of that deal.

To me, Giannis plays as a Center already in my eyes. That's what he looks like to me. If I got him in ORL, he would be my Center. He beats WCJ and most other Centers (so no knock on WCJ) in every Center type category of assessment from height to defense to offense.

Paolo and Giannis would be super wild too. Double Paolo every game like last season? Good luck.
