One thing I love about our RealGM board. TRUE Magic fans, not bandwagon D12 fans. We will rebuild and be back someday.

So I am not a true Magic fan ? Even though I've been a fan since day 1, didn't jump on Penny/Shaq bandwagon, was on board before they came. I went to the 1st ever Magic game at 6 yr old. I have grown up with this team and rooted for them with every once of my blood.
I just can not bear losing another player of this caliber and continuing on with my day.

So maybe in your opinion I am a bandwagon fan.

You're upset now, but you will be back in no time if you've been a supporter for that long... come on, who are you kidding.

I don't think you are a bandwagon fan Nemesis, some people are really frustrated, i was frustrated a long time ago, i just feel like if Howard don't want to be where he built this home, then he could leave, we been through alot as Magic fans, and it's time to move on from Howard. i love the guy cause he kept Ball here, but its whatever man, we all need to move on, and keep rooting for #teammagic.

Howard, Bryant, Paul in Lakers uniforms at once = 20 years of Magic/NBA support out the window.

Howard anywhere OTHER than in a Lakers uniform = continue to support the Magic.

Lakers have to choose between Paul & Howard ..

Denton said our offer would probably be Howard/Hedo for Bynum/Gasol

If it were up to me, I'd prefer the best player in the game over arguably the best, but weak-knee'd, PG in the game

Nobody said anything to you sir. I guess it's different for people. I've been a Lions fan since I can remember and never once imagined giving up on them, even after the 0-16 season. I LOVE my teams with a passion, I love sports, I bleed for the Magic. I could care less if they didn't win a game for 19 years, I'd be at as many games as possible cheering my ass off.

I would have been perfectly happy to start Gortat as our center.

We can do this again. We will have a high pick. If we clear cap we have a history of doing very well getting the players we target. First step might have to be an upgrade at GM or scouting dept.

All I read from that article was...

"Smith emphasized that the Magic want to keep Howard long-term, and he added that Howard and his camp haven’t told the team that he definitely will not remain with the franchise. "

I with you Nemesis. People can say what they want. No one is less of a fan because they decide not to spend/invest in tickets to see a team that will not win. If they want exhibitions then they need to change the NBA format as entertainment like the Globetrotters and not as competition. People still will watch. I will am not a glutton for punishment and will not keep watching them find new ways to screw the team i love. I would rather not watch. That doesn't mean the love is not there, so yall need to quit with this "real" fan BS.
Woj is the new Bucher. Shams is the new Woj. Espn is the new TMZ. The NBA is the new WWE.

I don't want Dwight to go to LAL, but Gasol AND Bynum?  To me, that's not enough.  Also, how would this even work money wise?

Pau Gasol - $19 Million this year and is under contract for 2 more years after this one
Andrew Bynum - $15 Million this year and a team option for next year at $16 Million

That's $34 Million combined and not adding the draft picks that Orlando would get from Los Angeles

Now, here's what Orlando would MOST LIKELY offer

Dwight Howard - $18 Million
Hedo Turkoglu - $11 Million this year and under contract for 2 more years after this one
Chris Duhon - $3.5 Million this year and is under contract for 2 more years after this year

That's $32.5 Million we would be sending out and we would be taking on $1.5 Million in salary and that's money that the Lakers are saving on luxury tax and off the cap.

I don't like this trade at all.  It would keep us from sucking, but it could cost us high draft picks.  Also, the draft picks that Los Angeles would give us, would be in the 27-30 range every year.  I hope Otis doesn't pull this trade and if he does, then I hope Alex Martins fires him.

To make a long story short,

LAL TRADES
Pau Gasol - $19 Million (3 Years)
Andrew Bynum - $15 Million (2 Years)
A couple of draft picks

ORLANDO TRADES
Dwight Howard - $19 Million
Hedo Turkoglu - $11 Million (3 Years)
Chris Duhon - $3.5 Million (3 Years)
Not changing this Sig until the Orlando Magic win a championship (Technically Started 1-30-08)
