I know Orlando should have taken the Suns package for T-Mac..

Unfortunately, Dwight's public refusal to resign anywhere but Brooklyn has put us and other teams in a tough spot.
If I am the Lakers, I would be willing to take the risk on Dwight. Dwight would fit much better with the Lakers with the addition of Nash. The last thing a starting lineup of Nash/Kobe/Hill/Gasol needs is a scorer who needs the ball in his hands (Bynum). A starting lineup of Nash/Kobe/Hill/Gasol/Howard could make a deep run in the playoffs this year.
If LAL offers Bynum for an unextended Dwight, you take the deal and run.

That's cause you're more interested in winning next year than trying to rebuild through the draft and clear cap space.

Let me see if I got this right: Lakers are afraid of Dwight Howard's back, but Nets are falling all over themselves to get him.

Does Dwight's back only act up when anybody except the Nets talks about him? Plus, when did Andrew Bynum become Cal Ripken?
