Since you gave me so much time. It was Stephan Marburry. I believe another nba player did as well. But props to them. I know another player did as well, but I just wanted to point out that not all nba sub stars to superstars think a kid should spend 100-200 dollars on some sneakers.

Marbury, Harrington, and shaq all had discount shoes that people could buy at a reasonable price.

^^ props to them IMHO. No one else. Do they realize how poor most of their fans are ? Well. Those 3 did. The others must not gaf. If were on the shoe topic.

I guess I'm the socialist of the magic forums.

So be it.

it's disappointing that wealthy athletes, many who come from urban areas, just like us, sign with shoe companies who make outrageously expensive shoes. sometimes it feels like they forget where they've come from

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Yes, shame on them for trying to make as much money as possible. And it's not like they don't give back in other areas either.

Does anyone remember when we were trying to make Lebron look bad by making Kevin Durant seem like the humble guy? Well that season, I remember Durant's shoes costing like $85 with the marketing campaign of "I remember I couldn't afford expensive shoes growing up..." The sad part is that Nike represents them both, so they were just preying on stupid people with that line.

As we all see, that gimmick lasted one season because KD's cost full price now. I think these companies are smart enough to know that consumers equate high price with better quality. That's why it's been hard for cheap sneakers to catch on.

I'm not saying they don't give back, but it seems they don't do so with their image, as much as their money. Please tell me how an additional wingstop(Drew Gooden) or car wash(shaq) contributes to their community? Are the kids in the urban impoverished areas supposed to admire their entrepreneurial spirit? Please..

I don't remember that, but it makes pretty good sense.

And anyone with a mind should know that Nike is likely the scummiest of all shoe companies. I'm 27, and I think I remember reading in a weekly reader in elementary school how nike had sweat shops in Southeast Asia.
I doubt Adidas is any better.

I wore reeboks in middle school(dem honeycombs)
I doubt reeboks any better in that respect.

I feel some shame for dragging my mom to the store to buy me 100+shoes fr a fashion statement though.
I work in pizza delivery and I hear 18 year olds talking about jordans, it just makes me shake my head. Cycle of poverty, fashionista version.

Despite his last games performance, I'd trade aa for jimmer fredette, and I just saw the Book of Mormon musical Wednesday night. I just can't stand his ranged game. Same spin move every time, and it fools

Hell yeah..What?! Please trade AA for Ed Davis.
Also I'll be at the game tonight. Hoping for a Harris sighting. I could see AA playing some SF with Lamb apparently ready.

Anyone know if FoxSportsFL replays games late at night? I'm going to have to miss this one, but would still like to watch it in its entirety.

FYI. That was 12am-1 this morning. Sometimes, I am able to catch the 2nd half of the game if I wake up at 4-5am.
