Simmons freely admits he's an idiot, and comparing the Magic to Kohl-era Bucks is indeed idiotic. He's just being hyperbolic.

basically he wants to be the new Skip Bayless

Not sure I agree with you on this one... I think Cleveland is pretty stocked and all the ring chasers will probably follow him anyway -- they could easily trade away players for better fit so it's not like they wouldn't have options with the roster.

Lebron + 5 dleague players pretty much gets you to the playoffs in the east... Hell I could be the starting center and they'd still probably have a shot at the 8th seed with him on the team.

Easier said than done. All those "Ring Chasers" don't just jump at the "Contenders". Lakers never had a ton of "ring chasers" and same with other teams. I seriuosly doubt that Cleveland team even with Kevin Love get to the finals with taht team. Lebron is great, but he can't do it along while a team with Love and Kyrie would just be killed on defense. That is a completley different style team than the Heat and Spurs. Defense wins championships.

$63M for Hayward? Can't we please lock down an extension for Tobias? I think 4 yrs, $38M would do it.

If LeBron goes to Cleveland and bosh goes to Houston I wonder how wade feels about that. He's the one who essentially recruited n got the big three together and not only are they both leaving him at the first sign of any trouble, but they are also leaving because he's the weak link.

few things.

Harkless - i would not call him "very talented" yet. shows promise? yes. improving? yes. But he hasnt really done anything to distinguish himself. still goes thru a lot games with zero stats or impact to show for it.

Fournier - another player that the jury is out on whether he is "very talented". It is looking more and more like he is the starting SG, so we will find out more about him this year.

Vucci - love Vucci, think he is underrated by non-Magic fans. But he would be lucky to be called a top-15 center right now (if you include a few PF's that are playing Center). And unless he makes some big-time gains on the defensive side, he isnt going to be a top-5 center.

bigdogdylan5 wrote:Why cant we just accept that Henny knows way more than we could ever know because we didnt work in the Spurs front office we didnt work in OKC's front office. Be patient lets see what his plan turns into or i promise you will look stupid

I would be careful there. Danny Ferry worked in the Spurs front office too and look at the team he put together around Lebron in Cleveland.

I guess for Harkless and Fournier i should have said potential to be talented but my point still stands what has Henny done that would lead the original poster to say playoffs or he is fired
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

I dont understand why these media heads keep talking about the Ben Gordon deal without mentioning that the second year is unguaranteed. They want to spread false information so they can talk **** about orlando. The fact that the second year is completely unguaranteed makes this a sensible signing considering Orlando risks nothing.

I don't know about a ton but off the top head I remember Gary Payton and Karl Malone going to LA to chase a ring, it didn't work but before the season started they were all but crowned the Champs. If Bron goes back to Cleveland others will follow. They're already talking about Mike miller and Ray Allen going to Cleveland.

Also, I think a team of LeBron, Kyrie, Wiggins, Love and whoever gets out of the east easy.

Miami will probably be forced to tank anyway, so they'll probably just resign DWade to the same 2 yr 40 mil deal.

I think the media chatter about Orlando and Henny is because they've just done a brief look over of the roster and don't understand the plan. Will the plan work? No one knows. But it's a different plan than anyone is used to. Results speak, so far not good, we will see next year. I'm just happy Henny has made moves he can put his name on and we can hold him accountable for. Its his responsibility now, he's gotten rid of everyone left over from the last era.

The more I look at the Bucks, the less this comparison makes sense. One key difference is they had a lot of weird guys with 5-6 years of experience with questionable prospects (Mayo, Ilyasova, Sessions) and veterans that seem like piece parts more than cohesive players for the team (Zaza, Ridnour, Caron Butler).

Whereas the first 10 in the Magic rotation are 8 prospects on rookie contracts (I think) and two complementary veteran shooters. The clear and obvious plan is to develop those 8 young guys and see who sticks.

Then again, I don't get paid by ESPN, so what do I know.
