Gordon started being a playmaker last season but Chuma has some of that built into his foundation too. Clifford might be able to take him to the next level if that becomes the design.

Guy's second name is OKEKE, do you really need nickname for it?

Re: Chuma Okeke drafted #16 by the Orlando Magic
Today, STATS, the worldwide leader in sports data and intelligence, and the Orlando Magic announced an exclusive deal that secures the Magic as the only NBA team with access to AutoSTATS, a revolutionary new artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The Magic will use tracking data produced by AutoSTATS to analyze collegiate players and improve evaluation and decisions for the NBA draft. AutoSTATS delivers comprehensive player-tracking data directly from video through patented AI and computer vision technology. The new technology gives the Magic exclusive access to the college tracking data currently unavailable at this scale due to the scarce use of in-venue tracking systems.
soooooo...... we got the rights..... used the information from it to back up their decision (think someone was #2 behind maybe zion)...so yeaaaaahhhhh.... there was was rhyme and reason....good job magic. hope we found gold!!!

Wouldn't want to put this rookie on a pedestal, but the bar might be too low if you're using Gordon as the standard.

Chumanji is my favorite so far. Nothing Drake related after watching that idiot in Toronto. How about...
Chewbacca
Chewy
the Wookiee
O'Freaky (oops double)
O'Sneaky
Or, if his shooting isn't really all that, O'Streaky.

Re: Chuma Okeke drafted #16 by the Orlando Magic
I just hope his shooting translates to the next level. His FT % does concern me a bit. He shot 72% last year which was a 5% increase from the previous season so hopefully, it continues to improve. I tend to think that ft% is even more reliable then 3pt % when predicting how they will translate shooting wise to the NBA.
Guys I've seen him compared to on here like Covington, Battier, and Harris were all career 75% or better ft shooters in college while Chuma shot 70%. If it does translate I think he can be an important 3&D player for us. If he hits the ceiling that some here seem to think he has maybe he could become an even better fit next to Isaac than AG is but time will have to tell on that one.
I'm warming up a bit to the pick.

I REALLY want the kid to be good, not just for us, but for these nicknames. It'd be so fun.

Re: Chuma Okeke drafted #16 by the Orlando Magic
The more I do my own research on this dude the more I'm falling in love. I just love his lowkey attitude and his mannerism towards the game, really Kawhi esque in that regard.
He literally has ALL the tools to be successful/elite in today's game, injury aside I could have easily seen him go top 10 which makes a lot of sense calling him the "potential steal of the draft".
His positive progression will inevitably make Gordon expendable.
We got a solid solid core guys, future def. looks bright.

Yes! I posted that on draft night they should play a clip from it when he scores.

Ah the time of year people make up nicknames for our rookies that nobody uses. Much like with Isaac, I’m picking CO.
