stan has had enough with the defensive play, hes tired of players not wanting to play defense, defense is the problem, cant play defense, will not compete without defense, he ate defense for breakfast the other day

Stans right about that, at least. Our defense is plain bad, even with Dwight.

i didn't know it had to be only one or the other.

I didn't know it was one or the other until I saw what happened in the 2 games that Howard did not play. Granted we weren't playing great defensive in our losses but we gave up 55.6% and 56.6% to the Nuggets and Pistons respectively.

so you think we would've done a better job defensively in those games without dwight if we had a different coach? if so, why?

Allowing them to shoot 56.6% didn't help either.

I agree but we didnt really have defenders out there. I gues Davis but he was interested in scoring and Q didnt play well. Everyone else who played is not a good defender. JJ is average.

BTW Orton is really fat. Its really sad that he doesnt care enough to stay in shape. Then he has the balls to say that he has "haters in the organization".

I'm speaking of the myth that our defense is good because of SVG defensive system.
Different coach? No! We need different players who, preferably, wants to play defense.

Not really worried about Orton, we can waive him in the off season. He's only guaranteed 2 years.

Like I said many times....

Nelson
Liggins
Clark
Anderson
Dwight

Think thats a good balance of offense and defense.

i'm not familiar with that particular myth. who is it that's saying that our defense is good only because of stan's schemes?

Different coach? No! We need different players who, preferably, wants to play defense.

no disagreement here.

Didn't expect to win this w/ arguably our best 3 players missing the game.

Oh well. Get healthy soon.

Good work Davis - inflate that value so we can trade you this summer!

Hedo and JRich are the dead weight. They need to be moved somehow and let everyone else expire. 2013 summer should look like this:

Dwight
Davis
Resigned Jameer (for the cheap)

NOTHING else but rookie contracts. Very possible too.

Now that is some foresight right there. Completely agree with you. I have no problem with Baby staying on this team because his effort is always there and you need players like that when you are building a contender.

Re-sign Jameer? Only if the Magic can promise that they will not treat him like an All-Star. If not, then you better get ready coz you're looking at your starting PG for the next 5 years. Please, no.

Maybe a one year contract. Or something really low, like Duhon level contract.

Orlando put up a great fight. All road games are tough. Orlando was out three starters. And the game was "in doubt" until the start of the forth.

It was the starting four of the 4th of Smith/Redick/Turkoglu/Clark/Orton where Orlando got killed. The whole idea that Coach Man would put Smith/Clark/Orton in the game at the same time where the result is in the balance is a bit insane (in my opinion).

This makes no sense. The 3rd seed and 7th seed are separated by 3 games. There is no way you could dictate who you face at the moment. Plus, Magic would probably have to get the 6th seed because looks like the Pacers have a good shot at the 3rd seed. The remainder of the season they face 8 teams with a losing record and 5 with a winning record. 9 games are home games and 4 games are road games. Their winning percentage is 60.4% and 60.4% of 13 games is 7.9 wins. With 8 opponents having losing records and 9 home games, they should easily stay on pace and probably win more than their average.

Plus, the Pacers aren't a guaranteed win in the playoffs. They led the Bulls in the 4th quarter 4 out of the 5 playoff games last year. That was without David West, George Hill and Leandro Barbosa. The only team the Magic should want to play less than them is Boston imo. They're experienced and know what it takes. The Sixers are showing their true colors by losing as of late and the Knicks/Hawks are beat up(Horford, Amare, Lin etc) while the Pacers don't have a single injury. Also, the Magic winning the series 3-1 during the regular season means nothing. Bulls swept the Heat last season 3-0 and then lost to them in the playoffs 4-1 after winning the first game of the series. They went from beating the Heat 4 times in a row to losing to them 4 times in a row.
