The thing is simple to me. Magic wants to hire FO before asking D12 if he wants to stay with us or not. Depending on his answer they will trade him this offseason or keep him long-term. No big deal. DeVos simply doesnt want to spend another year with this mess again.

And that is why I'm confident we might be in luck this time regarding our star player. With top-tier GM and president of basketball operations at the helm, we might see a swing in momentum in our favor when it comes to the Dwight-situation and getting top players. So the latter part of your comment might actually come true sooner than we think.

Now lets just see how this develops.

Sure, it may end up being wrong, which is completely different than making the whole thing up.

His blog is struggling, he needs the hits and link juice from actual news sites.

Let's hope the Nets get the #1 pick and trade Dwight for it so we can move on from this soap opera already. :D

You are way too smart to go with that ^.

Josh Robbins is reporting that his sources say differently and that they have NOT made any decisions. I'll say it again, Sheridan is a hack and not even ESPN is picking up his stories.

this is exactly it. if there were any merit to it, every ESPN journo worth his mettel would be on the phone to his Orlando sources to find out if it's true, and if so, the story would be front page.

instead, ESPN are focusing on the true/prominent stories coming out of Orlando - who will fill management next.

Sheridan knows that by bucking the trend and being the lone "Dwight wants out" voice, he'll get all the hits and views on that front.

I'm not interested in Bynum at all.. make the trade and then ship him somewhere for a draft pick.

I haven't seen that report, been distracted lately, and don't really know the personalities being mentioned actually. Robbins could very well have gotten a different response after the leak had been plugged just the same, I don't know. But, I'm also going by my gut as well, which makes me more likely to believe Sheridan. Given the roller coaster ride that we already went on, and the current vibe of Howard and Martins, I get the feeling Dwight wants to start fresh somewhere else as well. We pushed Dwight to waive his ETO, and I don't think he liked it much. It was a necessity to look for trades at the deadline and at least get rental value from some team versus having him walk for nothing, which is what he wanted to do imo all the way to Brooklyn. So, he had to play nice, because he got played, and now he's had time to stew on it in L.A. of all places. I thought there was hope for a brief time with that move, but I'm starting to move the other way and believe that nothing has changed.

im hearing dwight's interview coming out tmrw makes it sounds like he wants out and is ready to move on, yet its over a month old. In his TMZ interview he said a lot has changed since then and even praised alex for not throwing him under the bus for the firing of SVG.

I also think martins did a great job keeping dwight out of the line of fire these past few months and deserves praise for the way he handled the otis and stan situation.

My opinion: We arent interested in trading dwight and he isn't ready to leave. Like others say, actions speak louder than words (in this case "sources") and our desire to build a championship calibre front office should tell us our intentions aren't to trade howard.

I think you may be right on the whole situation but I still don't believe that ownership has made up their minds without hiring respected basketball minds.

I can't believe how nervous some of you get when some hack bloggers makes up some spiel about Dwight being traded.

All actual evidence points to Dwight having not decided anything, with the sacking of SVG perhaps slightly erring him to stay.

Okay, but wouldn't those respected basketball minds want some sort of commitment one way or the other as well? How do you hire a big name gm or coach without them wanting to know what's going to happen with Dwight? More than likely, the new gm will have the task of trading him if Dwight doesn't have a buy in attitude, and probably would be the most determining factor on who we choose as gm. All those conversations are taking place right now I would imagine. I just get the feeling that Dwight isn't with the program.

I think you have an idea of what you re prepared to do but I don't see how the Magic can definitively say, right now, that Dwight WILL be traded. What if you get a big name GM that can sell Dwight on a quick turnaround? Why make a decision right now? Don't you want to see what the draft order looks like? Who your coach is? What can actually be done with the rest of the roster?

One last thing to remember, RDV is old and wants a championship. I don't think he'll get to see it if we trade Dwight and start a rebuild. I think this is key and why Dwight wasn't traded this year.

Dwight will be traded. Mark my words, quote my words, etch my words on a stone tablet, whatever. The Magic FO does not want to deal with Dwight Drama for another whole year. He has more trade value now than he does at the trade deadline. The Magic are cleaning house (and that includes Dwight).

All we can hope is that Dwight has been enjoying his time in LA enough that he can give the Lakers the thumbs-up this go-around. Getting Bynum back makes the rebuilding much less painful than it would be with just Lopez.
