Re: 2025 NBA Draft
Let's not get it twisted, WCJ has some potential limitations but I'd easily use Denver's pick on him.

Draftnet has him going 19. I think Tankathon will have him moving up.thelead wrote:Let's not get it twisted, WCJ has some potential limitations but I'd easily use Denver's pick on him.

For sure, questions about if he can be an actual PG or is a SG in a PG body like Cole Anthony
We shall see
Ironically gives he Jameer Nelson vibes, with less passing ability

He doesn’t have court vision. Doesn’t have great decision making and doesn’t play defense

Just what I was thinking. Better shooter than Jett. Probably better playmaker and smarter than Cole. He might not have a super high ceiling, but he has a very high floor. I wouldn't be surprised if he became a really good NBA starter or key role player.

I just don't get what these draft experts are doing for the rest of the year... I saw Clayton once a few weeks ago and came here asking about him being scouted as a late second round pick... didn't make any sense to me.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft
If Walter Clayton is there at the denver pick, you take the risk. Draft scouts are embarrassingly wrong all the time outside top 10. Look up Brunsons draft predictions if you wanna see what I mean. Clayton Jr is at the very worse in NBA gonna be a solid shotmaker and 3pt shooter. We need that.

When wcj was at a lesser known schoolnin Iona, he was already " the man"
Question always arises about that big fish small pond. Well him and Broome showed everyone they still are the man when the brighter lights are on.

Agreed about the Denver pick but disagree on Clayton's floor... just because even lotto talent become busts. I could easily see him played off the court in the NBA but I'd take him in the mid-to-late 20's due to the shot efficiency and handle, hoping that it translates.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft
I do not get the love for Maluach. I get the size but I don't see enough there to think he should be a top 10 pick... admittedly, I haven't followed the 2025 draft so I don't have guys ahead of him but he doesn't look like a traditional top-10 pick IMO.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft
How can we get Kon Knueppel? Dude is legit shooter. I hope he drops to us however unlikely that is.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft
Why the draft always underrate guys like WCJ and McCain? Dude is a legit performer in NCAA Tournament. Is it because of lack of size and potential? 4 year college players always rated low in draft.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft
Let me ask a question since I am a UCF fan: What about DEN pick like a guy named Darius Johnson from UCF? Dude just scored 42 in College Basketball Crown semi-finals. Has the size and strength. Plus he can shoot. The only is again his age. Just throwing it out there. I like WCJ also

Maluach played bad enough that we might be able to get him with our pick
Maluach
Clayton
is a good haul for the draft

Package our picks for Kuh-Nipple. If not grab WCJ and sell the rest.

Fixed:
The very last thing Orlando needs is two rookie for the 2025/26 squad.
Orlando has 4 draft picks coming. I would be happy if all four were used in a trade package. But if the Magic keep their pick (lilely the 17th pick in the draft), trade the Denver picks with - pick one of - Caldwell-Pope. Carter, Anthony, Howard: for a new guard, that is the value of this Denver pick.
(Anthony, the Denver pick for Luke Kennard, as one example).
I guess i the Magic trades their own pick and uses the Denver pick, Clayton makes sense if available at ~#25. Orlando will need a 3rd string PG if/when Anthony is traded. Clayton seems fine for Mr. 3rd string.
But if the Magic had to choose between using their own pick to draft Traore or the Denver pick to draft Clayton, well, that's an easy choice.
