Not really. The situation is completely different from last year.
When Dwight asked for the trade, he was coming off a 1st round playoff loss, he was the 3x DPOY, had his best offensive season and was a healthy 26 year old, who had leverage on where he wanted to go in a shorten season. Now, Dwight Howard had a good season, he played defense but no where near the level he played last year--probably in an effort to stay on the floor longer--, and he had back surgery which has potential to linger throughout his career, he doesn't have that leverage at all and it really doesn't matter where he wants to go because the team can still trade him whenever they want, even if it's in the beginning of the season, where the other team would have him for the entire year.

No team willing to rent him is going to give us anything better then Bynum or Lopez+Top 3 pick so it doesn't matter.

It is because Jameer's bad shoot selection. He uses quick 3's, can not make them, and those shoots return as fast-breaks.
