James Harden gave the perfect answer!

Would love to see OKC win the west again this year

Then I hope Harden comes to Orlando after that!

No disrespect to OKC fans, but if Harden came to Orlando, I just know our fans would go bananas with the beard gang love.

Wouldnt be surprised to see Mickey or Goofy rocking the Mohawk and beard either like Horace's goggles on the MGM Studios water tower back in the day.

Eh only if the team is winning. People wouldn't care if we were a middle of the road, 41-48 win team.

James Harden on a max deal scares the crap out of me. He'll definitely get it, but I'm not sure he'll ever be a legit number 1 option.

lol, worst brand integration ever. Durant sounded as enthusiastic about that fuel band as if he were talking about the toilet paper he uses.

it certainly is something to think about but every great player goes through that transition to get to the next level......Does Harden have what it takes to be the man? well time will tell but at age 23 he's doing alright...he has the tools required to be a number 1 option but does he have the right mentality? The way i see it is if Harden is out there in the Market you should go get him if you have the chance....Like Bensantional said Harden might be the next best SG out there after the Kobe's and Wade's of the Nba get even older.....

what i'm not sure about is his situation......is he going to be a Restricted Free Agent? or a regular Free Agent?

Harden will be a restricted FA in 2013 and unrestricted in 2014 (if he signs the QO b/c he cannot come to terms with OKC). If he were to hit the market, I think his top choice would be Phoenix. They have a glaring need for a SG, should have the cap space needed, he went to school at ASU, mom still lives in Arizona and it's close to his native California. Orlando could be in the mix as well.

So after waiting too long to fire Otis and SVG, waiting to long to hire a GM and waiting too long to hire a head coach, the Magic are now dragging their heels hiring a coaching staff. Clearly you need an experienced, veteran assistant to guide Jacque, and I'm seeing those guys hired every day by other teams for the past few weeks. Good candidates who would have been perfect on Jacque's bench. The two guys he's allegedly hired aren't veteran types that can help him coach the team, they're more scout/video guys. Guess we're just going to let him wing it.

yeah, August 10th. Means, we have trade deadline, draft, and free agency to use it.

Mike Bianchi: Will have former #Magic coach StanVanGundy on radio Monday at 8:15 a.m. What should we ask him? Listen live: http://www.iheart.com/live/601/

Should be interesting. I'll be sleeping but can someone recap?

So we could draft a C like Noel, Gobert, or zeller, sign harden, then trade the tpe for rudy gay? is that a possible scenario?

Meer/ish
Harden/afflalo
Gay/Harkless/hedo
BBD/Nicholson/Ayon
Rook/Vucevic/Oquinn

Well, not 100% sure, but i think we'd have to renounce the TPE to have the cap space to sign Harden, or a FA. If we do that, we lose it, and can't use it to trade for another big-contract player.

Hopefully, someone can fact check me.

pretty crappy scenario. only legit center in that list is Gobert and i dont want him. Harden sure that could be a decent signing but trading for Overpaid Players like Gay is Stupid unless they are willing to trade us Conley or Multiple 1st round picks.

Personally i think we should dig in and focus by drafting Players and signing Role Players and not Draft a center just to draft a center which can get you in trouble. the OKC way of Rebuilding a team Focuses on drafting 2 superstars which wouldnt be happening if ur scenario Planned out. we need to spend money smartly and not spend money just for Spending money.

so im guessing you think we should use tpe to get a pick? depending on the pick that could be good.

Although, im not too sure about the idea of banking on building a team the same way okc did, which took a lot of luck

that's the beauty of the TPE we can use it for draft purposes and we can use it in Free Agency....it's like the Joker in a deck of cards......

if i had a choice in how we should use it i would try to get 3 Players that teams want to get rid of so they lower the tax or out of it and acquire a minimum of 3 more Picks.

i would trade forRip Hamilton and Charolettes 1st, Biedrins and Golden State 1st, and i cant think of a 3rd player that fits into it but imagine if we can Milk 3 Lottery picks with the TPE.

Cheaper and probably Much better Longterm if players get developed

I get the feeling reading this thread that there are no free agents that will save our franchise. Is that right? It seems like we're hopeless bunch. There may be Harden on the market, maybe not, but outside of that, which NBA borderline all-star or all-star will be joining the Magic in 2014 to bring our team back into the spotlight? I don't see anyone.

Somewhat OT but according to Wiretap Brandon Jennings wants to sign an extension in Milwaukee.....got to give him props for that.....not because of Dwight bitterness but that fact that....no offense but Milwaukee isn't really south beach if you catch my drift.....wants to be a part of something there cool dude.....

well a lot of it is probably a leap of faith that we can get lucky with draft picks with potential to be great players....And we have to trust that Henny and company can maneuver a big time free agent here....we have young guys with potential and i hope they can realize it.....

Nicholson-David West potential
Harkless- Rudy Gay/Joe Johnson potential
Vucevic- Pau Gasol/memhet Okur potential

Hopefully we take player development seriously and whip these young guys into shape.....they have the talent they just need to put in the work to be great.....Those to me are promising SF/PF/C prospects with high ceilings....Add to that the lottery pick(s) we will have this upcoming draft it would definitely be a youth rebuild on hope that we can develop these guys into great players....Once we got the youth in place then i believe we can get a Max Player.......

With that 19th pick my target was for either Moe or this guy, but Rob went for Nicholson!
Could have been a perfect replacement for Nelson!?

Memphis sure got a steal... By selecting him @ #25.
