Do you think AG made 'vast improvements' during this season or he can already be labeled bust for a top 4 pick?

Asking cause he had worse rookie season than Hezonja (and Magic were still in tank mode)

Difference with AG was he lost a lot of time due to injury in his rookie year unlike Mario. Also AG at least can be effective as a defender when on the floor, I did not feel the same way about Hezonja. Also to note, AG also did made vast improvements from his rookie year, however he still has a long way to go.

To me there is no way Mario can be labeled a bust based off of what he showed already to me. Unless some who had usually high expectations, nobody drafted after in range is making me regret us picking hezonja. Extremely excited to see how much he improves next season.

Mario Hezonja is a star in the making

I've been following Mario's development over the years and it's hard to say what kind of a player he'll grow up to be. He can be great at times, he is fully capable of going 10/10 behind the three point line and than looking completely out of the game for the next five games...he is athletic enough for NBA but is lacking explosivness and his first step isn't something out of this world. Defensively he has become much better and he seems more concentrated. The biggest problem with him is that he is really inconsistent and can sometimes be mentally out of the game.He has above average tools but doesn't use them in the right way. He is still young dough and he could become one of the best shooters in the league if given the right chance and being used by a coach. I feel like Skiles was the right coach for his rookie year becouse of his defensive troubles but I hope the new one will use him more and create some plays for him. I hope he'll be more secure in himself his second year. I feel like he was too humble this season and he needs to take a stand and show he belongs here. That's how I see things.

Hezonja is too streaky, but when he's on, he's our best offensive player on this team. His shooting and ability to find teammates for easy shots, are really valuable for a team that lacks a legitimate scorer.

I agree . I don't think he was used the right way so far. But I can understand,it was his first season, this one will be really important for him.I hope they choose the right coach. He certainly has something a lot of the players on the magic team lack and that's the ability to score from any part of the court. And he has the vision, so I hope he'll be able to demonstrate that in the future. I feel however that most Orlando fans expect a little bit too much from him. He could be good but he is no Dražen Petrović. I don't think he can score 20 plus points on regular bases. I see him more of a Manu Ginobili type of player. At least that's the impression I've got so far watching him play serious basketball. When he was younger he looked like he could be new MJ...

http://crewsports.sportsblog.com/posts/17624729/4-possible-trades-that-could-happen-this-offseason.html
Orlando Magic: Jimmy Butler, Doug McDermott, Justin Holiday
Chicago Bulls: Victor Oladipo, C.J. Watson, Mario Hezonja, Andrew Nicholson, 2017 NBA Top-5 protected 1st Round Pick
Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

If Chicago are truly interested in rebuilding this trade may be the way to go. Orlando has already shown interest in trading for Butler, who might end up being the superstar they have been craving for years now. To get Butler the Magic would need to give up a large package including 2 of their last three 1st Round Picks. Oladipo is the Magic's best guard and would be a solid young player for the Bulls to receive in exchange for Butler. The most significant piece the Bulls would receive in this trade would be Mario Hezonja. Hezonja was a top 5 pick a year ago who possesses loads of potential. He has potential to become a prolific scorer who will drop 20 points every game.

Bummer, saw the article that said since Mario is gonna be with Croatia for Olympic qualifier and those dates are almost exactly the same as Summer League.

Orlando's league is gonna be very lackluster in terms of high picks. No other teams in there even will have a lottery pick, I think. Except our #11.

Yeah, it's been known for about 2 months now that he's with his national team. It's better IMO, way higher level competition. You will be seeing direct match ups like Mario-Gallinari, Mario-Belinelli etc. Too bad Giannis won't be with Greece this summer most likely cause we'd have awesome Mario-Giannis match ups like we did this past season. And those were damn good if I may add :D

Many TV stations in Europe will be there so we'll have plenty of good HD streams to watch Mario in action.

Hopefully Mario comes back a better player, like Nicholson and Fournier did after playing with their national teams.

It would have been fun to watch Mario dominate in the summer league, I'm confident he'd be much better this time around. That being said, it's much better for him to play serious basketball against top level talent. He'll probably be a starter for Croatia with tons of usage.

How do people draw up that Mario doesn't have explosiveness?

Mario Hezonja will be our #1 option in a year or two. His offensive upside is higher than anyone wed trade him for including Jimmy Butler

I would prefer he stay here and play summer league. He's played international ball his whole life, what is one more summer of that going to do for him? What he really needs to do is learn and adapt to the NBA style of play, and with a new head coach, Summer League would give him a chance to get a head-start on learning some of Vogel's basic defensive principles.

If Croatia qualifies, he gets to go to the Olympics, a highlight for any athlete (most USA based basketball players don't get to experience this). Mario also several times talked about how he likes to play for Croatia, if I remember correctly, his uncle? died in the war and he feels very strongly about playing for national team. I don't think he'll change a lot in the future. Some guys are like that.

Summer league is overrated. lets be honest.. you just want to see him be a go-to option and tear up d-league scrubs
