So that's 87 games lost to injury for the guards.

yep, which means the mpg numbers were inflated a bit too.
AB will get minutes as long as he stays healthy

I think Suggs takes over for Harris at some point early in the season. I don't know what that does to the second unit. The whole thing is weird as hell and the draftees don't help unless some consolidation is made. Like there is a non zero chance that a team that picked 6th and 11th in the draft and miss the playoffs will have neither player in the rotation to start the season. It doesn't make sense as is.

I wanted to draft Keyonte at 6 at one point.

I know it’s only summer league and you really can’t take much from it but looking at how great Keynote has been is frustrating, lol.

I know 6 wasn’t a possibility but 11 was.

He absolutely will.... so who becomes a third stringer to get the 6th pick the minutes he should get?

Happens way more often than one thinks. They don't want to lose more with young guys than they already have.

Cole showed solid 6th man chops, Fultz was solid but unspectacular, Suggs improved throughout the year, Gary was steady but obviously is on the way out.

I think Harris will transition to a smaller role throughout the year, and the rest showed enough to be intrigued by but nothing to be confident in either, so they'll get minutes to start but depending on play/injuries, things can change.

Its like Magic fan tradation at this point to hype up some potential 3 level scoring guard that they could of drafted that ends up showing something early and than fading into oblivion.

Really cool to see Jett showing off his passing ability in these exhibition games made for players to hero jack shots every possession. Shows that he's probably easily coachable. I'm higher on Jett than AB but AB has shown nice things in these two games too.

I don't think the coach, Dylan or whatever understood the assignment. We should be setting up our rooks to succeed. I mean don't you want to see what your shooter can do with volume? Where's the flares? Floppys? Pindowns? Elevators? Like where are the actions set up to get our shooter to shoot? It's a problem when a pg nobody heard of got more shots up than your lottery pick. Would love to see black run p&r with a proper big and not the cadaver out there named DJ Wilson. What big doesn't know how to set a pick? It seems like the coach is trying to see who could play for HIS roster and not worrying about ours.

The glass half full is we got the #1 pick right. THAT was the one we needed to nail. Also got arguably the best player the draft beforehand.

I too wanted Keyonte, but to expect to strike gold three drafts in a row is just greedy. :D

That said, Black and Jett both look like they have tools to build on. It may take them longer but they are at least showing the start of something positive.

Looks ugly based on the boxscore, what happened?

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

I think it is clear we need to trade AB before it is too late.

It is pretty baffling. Luckily, Cole’s oblique, Suggs’s ankle, Gary’s knee, and Markelle’s big toe are all there to help it all make sense of how we got here.

I feel like Summer League is like that one Spongebob meme with Patrick.

"You know these games don't count?"

"Yup."

"And there is no correlation between these games and real NBA games."

"Yup."

"So there's no reason to overreact in either direction about anything from these games."

"That makes sense to me."

"Then calm down."

"Our draft sucked."
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

I think most people have been pretty sane though when it comes to our rooks.. liked a lot of what they've shown and have areas of obvious improvements, it's when other guys play better that they assume that it's going to translate quicker. What matters if the opportunity they get in the next few seasons and excelling in the roles asked of them.
