Markelle is great at convincing teams to pay him money. First 76ers picking him first, than us paying him that much. Masterclass really.
You're right. He'll probably be a borderline all-star this season so he can get a big contract next season.

Be still my aching heart! Haliburton would be the absolute dream for me.

I worry that Indiana is the perfect place for him and he’s never leaving, but if Paolo and him develop chemistry and rapport and Paolo can recruit him to join us… it would be some of the best Magic basketball to watch in the longest time.

Y’all realize that it can work the opposite way too right?

Yea of course but Indiana is not the threat. I would be more worried if an expansion team from Seattle is able to recruit them both in FA. Look if we do our job and continue to improve and be a buttoned up organization Paolo probably will stay. But Seattle will and always will be a threat
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Halliburton does seem to be kinda the opposite of most modern players. He was extremely unhappy to leave the kings. It’s still a pipe dream but more realistic then Doncic imo.

It feels like yesterday hearing my father in law bash our FO for drafting Franz with that 8th pick. He's addicted to Michigan Basketball and Football and said Franz was a bum for the Wolverines and that the Magic took a dive on Franz to please the alumni. I guess this confirms Jett will be a nice player because now he's screaming over the dinner table calling Weltman a "damn fool" for taking him in the lottery lol.

Everyone is so quick to bypass these semi-finals. I wouldn't look pass Germany. USA better step up if they want to go get into the finals.

I wouldn't worry about an expansion team taking Paolo. If I am not mistaken, when an expansion happens the teams are allowed to hold onto 8 (#?) players and the expansion team has to pick from the rest. If Orlando let him go it's probably because he asked to go. And I'm not really worried about him staying. He seems like someone who likes the spotlight, he'll probably go to a bigger and better market I just want him to win a championship here before he goes. He would be legendary if he brought the first championship to Orlando.

people need to get over that irrational "he's gonna leave" mindset....it's weak as hell to me....some leave....some don't....Just off the top of my head, Kobe bryant from philly......Born in Philly.....never played there....when he was thinking about free agency he was thinking chicago....not philly....it's just one of many other stories....plus paolo himself says he does NOT get homesick....not worried in the slightest....unless the front office starts messing up

Everybody laeves in modern nba, it's just matter of how ugly it will be and when it will happen and what you get in return.

There are just several nba active players left who played 12+ years on same team, Warriors have 3 of them.

That's problem to be worried when it happends, today it's pointless and irrational.

…and the GSW guys stayed for rings and GSW’s ability to keep them ($$). ORL needs to get their core established SOON, so they can grow together and peak at the same time…before Franz & Paolo get the vibe that the FO is wasting their prime years by being so patient in building a complementary team. The future is (can be) bright…but it’s coming fast. Optimism can go dark VERY quickly when a star feels like they’re taking a beating every night for minimal team success. We need a third this season. Paolo’s ahead of schedule, which also means his disappointment could come early too…pumping the brakes when things are looking good is a mistake, be grateful and recognize that the timeline could take a leap forward. It’s an opportunity but also a suddenly volatile situation.

I guess losing Shaq and Dwight in their primes will do that to someone…

I guess but those situations there were front office circumstances that led to that....people think paolo is just going to wake up one day and say i'm going to seattle or las vegas or whatever team when there is NO evidence to even think that way as far as paolo is concerned

Worst case 7 years of Paulo and then trading him for a haul wouldn’t be terrible

Pretty much explains why best players go to biggest teams.

Being best player on small market team means somebody 5 times worst than you will be considered greater than you, just because media talks about him x50000 times more.
