This works on Trade Checker and is what I'd be asking for....
Howard/Hedo/Duhon/QRich
For
Gasol/Bynum/Caracter/Ebanks plus LAL 1st and Dallas (Odom trade) 1st Rnd picks.
We would have youth in JJ, Jameer, Anderson, Caracter, Ebanks and 3 1st Rnd picks to get CP3 or Deron. Or Even Monta AND Iggy.
That is all...

Do another trade with the Gortat TPE to acquire Jarret Jack, which would free up another 5 milion for the Hornets immediately. We could include Harper and/or Orton and the Hornets would get a pick from us and maybe the Rockets. Houston can amnesty Hedo and create some serious caproom for next summer. Hornets could then try to flip Scola to a contender like the Thunder (maybe something like Collison / Maynor, who have shorter contracts), which would put Ibaka where he is best at, as an energy guy of the bench.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part V) NEW S
Chris Paul would not resign here if Dwight wasn't here.
On a potential Bynum/Gasol/Picks/filler for Dwight and bad contracts deal................
It would probably be the best deal and one of them could be flipped for youth and picks.
However, I would not do the deal because it's The Lakers.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part V) NEW S
While Bynum/Gasol is interesting I hope the Magic aren't in a rush.
Bynum is young but injury prone
Gasol is breaking down 30 year old 3 year cap killer (currently day to day right now with a strained quadriceps .. too bad he isnt a few years younger
You know we don't need somebodies leftovers
Lakers could terminate Bynums last year and Amnesty Gasol and still not have enough to sign Dwight
Plus, I just crunched the latest numbers and the Magic don't even have to make any trades to have max cap room (18 mil) this offseason if Dwight walks
Definitly need to wait and see if those 2 bigs can even play for a start.
As for Brook lopez, 7 foot 265 lbs he averaged less than 6 rebounds last year on a crappy team ... thats a red flag.
And if the Nets pay Nene 12+ mil per year they will have trouble getting the money to pay Dwight too.
I'm still favoring trying to win it all with Dwight and letting the money do the talking

I'm not so sure Howard. If we can sell him on a championship caliber team i'm sure he would. At the end of the day he wants to win. Gasol or Bynum, J-Rich, Okafor, Ariza can do damage.

You know, i'm starting to reconsider how i view this whole trade Dwight thing. After thinking about it Otis never really did say that he WILL trade Dwight. I think he put it out there to do exactly what we see happen, which is to halt the Lakers pursuit of Paul not that Dwight is in play. I think he's gonna make a run at Paul.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part V) NEW S
Personally, I've no interest in getting back mediocre talent for Dwight and treading water as a 7th or 8th seed for a couple of years before the front office decides it's finally time to blow it up. I wouldn't want any established players other than those with expiring contracts, if Dwight's on his way. I'd be calling up the Clippers and asking them for this deal:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=7go2koj
Plus Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first rounder and (if we can squeeze it out of them) a couple of other picks. Gives us two decent enough young prospects in Aminu and Bledsoe, cap relief from Kaman's (who we could at some point look to flip for picks or other prospects from playoff teams wanting a center), and also two terrific shots at a top three pick in next years draft (because we will definitely be lotto bound, and so will Minnesota). We'd have solid prospects at PG and SF, and a couple of shots to add one or even two of Drummond, Sullinger, Lamb and Davis.
We'd be in a terrific situation to build quickly from the ground up. Contending teams will likely be very interested in people like Jason Richardson, JJ Redick, Meer and Big Baby if we started clearing house, depending on their needs, giving us the chance to acquire more picks, youth or trade exceptions.
I reckon the Clippers would be willing to do it, because they get a shot at Dwight Howard without touching any of their key young players, Griffin, Jordan or Gordon.

That's right after all dwights intro to the league was being on a poster of a dunk. and last time I checked Bynum was no defensive stopper.
Yup not saying Brooke will, just that the alternative means reliving the Grant Hill era. Don't tell me majority here is willing to undergo that again? What's even worse is the guy we are putting our hopes for and wanting to play isn't as classy as Hill.... heck exact opposite of Grant
Hill, who was so classy as to kill our salary cap for seven years, and then when finally healthy, head off to what he thought was greener pastures in Phoenix. I don't hate the man--and he isn't a dirty player like Bynum--but it's not as though he has some powerful streak of loyalty in him.

Magic three-team trade for Dwight?: Howard for Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol. Ship Gasol to Hornets for Chris Paul, giving them Bynum and Paul.

Magic envision new post-Howard starting lineup of Chris Paul, Andrew Bynum, Jason Richardson, Jameer Nelson and Big Baby Davis.

I would HATE to see Dwight in Purple and Yellow, but if we can pick up Bynum, lose Turk, and turn Gasol into the Houston offer (Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, Goran Dragic), do you say no?
Andrew Bynum, Justin Harper
Luis Scola, Glen Davis
Kevin Martin, Quentin Richardson
Jason Richardson, JJ Redick, Von Wafer
Jameer Nelson, Goran Dragic, Chris Duhon
is a competitive team in the east.
If we had the pieces to somehow turn Jameer into Paul, it gets even more fun.

That's interesting. I quite distinctly remeber a certain poster suggesting something similar yesterday? Hmmmm?

LA Clippers emerge as favorites in the clubhouse to land Chris Paul... Golden State still in the mix... as is Orlando.
