Linsanity wouldn't have been such a big deal if it happened in Milwaukee. You give addidas the opportunity to put a superstar in the New York market I promise you they will throw big $ to make that happen. Not $400 million, but big money non the less

Here is the top 10 in athlete endorsement money from 2011 from Forbes.
Tiger Woods $60,000,000
Phil Mickelson $57,000,000
LeBron James $30,000,000
Dale Earnhardt Jr. $22,000,000
Jeff Gordon $18,000,000
Peyton Manning $15,000,000
Kevin Garnett $14,000,000
Dwyane Wade $14,000,000
Kevin Durant $14,000,000
Dwight Howard $12,000,000
Jimmie Johnson $12,000,000

None of those guys are in major metropolitan areas. You don't have to be in a big city to attract people. If you win, the people come to you.

As for Linsanity, is it still going on? It was kind of like last year when people tried to talk themselves into Amare as an MVP candidate because the Knickes were .500. Now they want him gone. The New York media is great at creating trends that don't last.

You are missing the point. I am saying that with NY being the market that it is companies will throw bigger money at Dwight if he is in Brooklyn. They want someone like him to be in NYC to capitalize on the market. He will still earn big dollar endorsement deals in Orlando, but those same companies will pay him more if he is in a city like NY because they are dying for someone with his popularity to there

Howard needs to win a ring and he will win huge endorsements. Big market or small market.. it does not matter.

Brook Lopez: His rebounds-per-game dwindled from 8.7 (2010) to 5.9 (last year) to 3.6 (this year). I wouldn't care except for the part that, you know, he plays center. Dwight Howard averages more rebounds per quarter. Let's all stop pretending those two names can exist in the same trade. Thanks.3

This just proves that Dwight doesn't need NY to make money. Only Lebron made the huge bucks. I don't see Carmello, Stoudemire or any of the other big market guys in there like Derrick Rose. Well, Rose will be up there this year.

This just proves that Big Market doesn't mean crap as the NBA is becoming a global market now and being in whatever city will soon be irrelevant.

Durant is the 2nd most for NBA players last year out of Oklahoma.

With the denver model you get alot of solid role players on good contracts then you go and get an all star in FA and your competing for a title soon there after. Picks and cash come to us http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=8y5zax8
pg:lowry,nelson
sg:kmart,jrich,redick,wafer
sf:Jrich,Qrich,Parsons,harper
pf:Anderson,davis,EC3
C:Dalembert,thabeet,Davis
obviously well have to probably drop 1 or 2 players to make this happen or flip a sg to the clips, pacers, or wolves for more picks or young talent

That's awful man. I know it clears a lot of bad contracts, but Lowry is the only really decent player in that deal. I'm never going to be a fan of Kevin Martin. He's a fragile 2 guard that lacks athleticism. Thabeet and Dalembert are a wash. Parsons has upside, but still not a great return.

agreed its not much but imo its better then NJ or GSW. Like i said lowry is a stud. kmart im not a fan of either which is why i think we could fli him to a team in need of a sg badly. maybe indy for granger or minny for some of there youth. dalembert is a servicable big man which is what you need these days to win, just someone who will rebound and block shots and thabeet and parsons are fillers. but i am a parsons fan so. but when you think about it thyre not gonna give us all there good players for howard when he wont sign an extension for him.
I hate gsw's deal where we get monta and dlee or curry and dlee cause monta will be no good for us unless we have howard and i hate currys ankle situation, hes so injury prone its not funny. and dlee is a good pf but we already have ryan there and dlee's contract will kill flexibility. and the nets offer just plain sucks.
also we get rid of alot of our bad contracts in hedo and duhon while keeping some movable trade pieces in nelson and jrich. if we could get a first for nelson and a second for jrich that wouldnt be so bad. maybe send nelson to the lakers for ebanks and a second idk.

Griffin, Jordan, Bledsoe and a first for Dwight and Duhon. Who says no? Maybe do Hedo for Mo while you're at it and Clipps slide Butler to the 2.

Maybe we can possibly get Mil. involved in a 3-team trade w/ Golden State? Its a longshot though

Twin Towers with he and Dwight? Talk about a block party. But Bogut has had plenty of injury issues which is why he's being shopped in the first place..

The NBA is becoming a global brand and the internet makes market nearly irrelevant.

Yeah, I'm on the fence about trading Dwight for the Nets deal. I understand that we want assets, but if he's still wavering on his decision, and isn't adamant about leaving at the deadline, is it worth those assets to trade him? I'm not so sure as I once was. Because I don't believe this whole renting thing at all. I think it's completely blown up by the media. It's franchise suicide for a team to rent him. It's the Nets or bust with him if he's traded. And idk if their offer is enough to entice us to trade him. If the Nets got us a lottery pick or 2, I'd be all in. Perhaps Lopez can be traded for one, because I don't care to watch him get killed on the glass night in and night out.
