Bulls should trade Boozer, not Noah.

Can't trade anderson on draft day, so it will probably be a trade involving JJ our only trade piece besides Dwight.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXVII: Offseason Editio
Just thinking out loud here but last season Chicago was our supposed prefered place to send Dwight, so maybe all these rumors were hearing of chicago trying to get top picks for deng and noah are really for us. I certainly wouldnt mind 2 high picks in a draft this good

Only big trade I could see us making is a Dwight trade, which would be fine with me.
No, if Dwight is traded it won't be until August or September. There's no reason to deal him this week. Watch where D-Will goes and watch him change his tune. I highly doubt they trade Dwight this week. This week should be about improving the team around Dwight. If they fail there, then we open the discussion for trading Dwight.
As far as other trades, I think we'll try our best, but who knows if anything will come of it. We've got terrible players on terrible contracts. Every team is looking to make trades this week, but it takes 2 to tango.

Plus, not sure if they can, but they could probably amnesty Boozer? Then trade Noah for a draft pick. When Rose is healthy they're left with possibly a more well-balanced, young team.

Rivers
Deng
Gibson

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXVII: Offseason Editio
I just wanted to get clarification if I could. I have heard people tell me that Austin Rivers is a PG and I have heard that he is a SG. I have not seen one clip of his game to determine for myself. Can someone here give me the closest player he would be compared to so I can get an idea of what kind of player he is?

Tough to say. I'd say Jamal Crawford with a little Russel Westbrook. He's definitely a combo guard that scores off the bounce. Definitely not much of a passer.

OJ Mayo. Combo guard. Not that good of a passer, has been known somewhat of a ball hog. Extremely cocky.

No, but i think Jrich is a trade piece too.
I see we trading one of them (JJ or Jrich), because we don't need both.

JRich for Darko is my goal. Helps us financially, and if Dwight still isn't recovered, we have a decent C to start the year with. With a healthy Dwight, he's a good backup and can also play minutes next to Dwight. He's a very good passer and would be a good fit with Davis on the floor.
As for DWILL, he wants to go with the team that can build the fastest; if we can clear the necessary salaries, I think we can get him. Dwight has to be the main salesman on the pitch.

So it sounds like he is a guard that can create his own shot off the dribble but is not able to create for others. If Orlando was able to draft him would he be someone that this team would take given the opportunity or would we pass because he is a ball hog?

We'd take him. He'd instantly be our best perimeter player.

If Rivers is available at 19 Orlando takes him. You can bet your house on that

You have to take him if he falls. Too much potential not to.

I don't know if I would go as far as to make that comparison. Turk has already fallen flat. Boozer is still producing and losing teams are often willing to overpay for bigs. He could probably still get you around 18/9 on several non-contending teams. I bet the Raptors would be stupid/desperate enough to consider it if they fail to get a solid swingman with their pick. Noah would definitely be an easier sell, but he's so valuable to the Bulls and the way they play that I would be shocked to see him go before selling Boozer for less in return.

Rivers is not a bad passer at all, he has the ability to make most all of the passes a PG needs to be able to make. He certainly has the ability to create since he can get in the lane and make the D collapse almost at will.
He CHOOSES not to pass most times, which is something coachable.

Sure, he'd get 18 and 9 but for the money he's being paid? I'd be hard pressed to find a team willing to take his contract. Every year from now his production is going to decline. It may be a decent basketball move in the short-term, but long term it could lead to cap hell and declined production. I view Boozer in the same light as Joe Johnson and Amare Stoudemire. Good players, but not worth the dollar they get.

Is it Thursday yet?!?!?!?! I honestly am excited for a draft again. This is the first one since we had the #1 pick that landed Dwight that I have been excited for in a long time

ESPNSteinLine Interesting morsel from @iwhittell: Warriors scout Speedy Claxton at Great Britain practice today in Houston. GSDubs are a Luol Deng suitor
