They should investigate Paulo for throwing the game.
Anthony Black still sucks. We are at the point where if he gets a steal or makes 1 shot he had a great game.

Tough loss man, if they simply made their free throws they would have won the game despite the poor showing.

Wasn't even a poor showing besides the free throws. Last 5 minutes was just a disaster.

Re: 2024-2025 Regular Season Game 48: Orlando Magic (24-23) at Miami Heat (22-22) - 7:30pm
There's some hidden positives in my opinion. First, Paolo is definitely in a rut, and lost us this particular game offensively. He had a great first game back, and not so much since then. He was passive to Franz, which to me was the first positive thing. I have seen Franz passive to Paolo more often, so I am more excited that Franz who is taking a step this year is, well, still taking that step. I don't care much for this 'who's better than who' game though, I think it's Paolo offensively, and very close in net impact, and we're super lucky to have both.
We had a 2OT possession of Paolo yelling the play and trying to set it up. WCJ was in the wrong spot and didn't know where to go. The play didn't develop. The most negative thing to me is that our offensive plays/sets seem way too ****. I can stare at the shot clock for free until 8 seconds left before I see any real offensive action. Didn't love that we yet again had WCJ as our undersized 5 against Bam going for 6 points in early 2OT either. I was glad to see Weltman behind the bench observing these things personally.
But back to positives, AB was good on both ends. Franz's drives are getting INSANE. And De Silva was who I had my eye on the most. He really impressed me without the star forwards, and I was basically betting on him to have this type of game with them back, and more and more often as the season continues. I've been starting to suspect that De Silva has potential to be a top 4 player for the team. And I am excited for our offensive plays/sets to improve because it's easy to go up from here. I liked the amount of actions with Franz and Paolo together too.

Weird flex after an actual good game by Black?

Herro is wild by the way. Dude has to be a top 3 threat in the league at 'way behind the 3 line' offense. It was no different than defending Steph Curry for a game.

Dude chased around Herro the entire game and scored 14 points on 11 shots with 5 steals and only 1 turnover.
" Well Herro got 30" . Herro is going to shoot a ton, he played 48 minutes he is going to score some points, he's really freakin good. Holding him to 30 on a 51 TS% with 5 turnovers is very respectable out of 21 year old. Also the fact that switches happen and Herro's biggest bucket was off of the Paolo dropped rebound, nothing the defense could do about that.
I thought his defense was awesome and I thought it was last game on Cade as well. He needs to improve on offense, but playing two of the best guards in the league that tough is very impressive to me.

Anybody that watched the game and didn’t pay attention to any stats knows that Black was his usual worthless self except for a few plays that anybody out there would come up with every once in awhile.
If Fulttz was a 4/10, Black is a 5/10. Black will get his 4th year but no team will trade for him. If the team that drafted him that is desperate for a point guard doesn’t want him why would anybody else.

Im gonna assume the only reason we didnt close with Goga is a hard minutes restriction, otherwise we have big issues. That plus/minus for Goga v WCJ is the story of the game for me. I have nothing else to say.

These missed free throws are costing us games. Paolo had a bad second half but this one of Mos. Again not calling time out when we needed. We went up by 13, and the heat brought back starters while he keeps Franz on the bench. Mos got outcoached again by Spo.
Mosley showing how he Is still rookie coach. ONce we move on from rebuilding phase he is gone.

Mos is missed free throws and a Herro last second shot away from being 4-0 against Spo.
Team has been out of rebuilding phase because of Mose. 47 wins last year and was on pace for 50 wins before injuries this year.
Magic fans begging for a Clifford or Vogel or Scott Skiles again and will ask why their rebuild failed when no one has a coach they want to play for.

Black played really well. Hit threes, 5 steals.

Yeah, it was really the last 5 mins that was poor. But Franz and especially Paolo could have played better. And also did not help Miami was just throwing up threes at the end and they were just going in.

He hit a 3 like he was feeling it once and hopefully he becomes like Tmac someday however Black (21) has yet to show that he can repeat anything good. Tristian Da Silva (23) is a better player.

Spo not getting any credit for switching up the defense? He stomped out Franz by putting size on him in the 4th and OT (Jovic).
Also, the defense was not good enough yet again. Miami shot 52% from the field.

Black can go 10/10 from three, the team offense will continue to struggle with him playing big minutes. He doesn't space the floor or make his teammates better.

Hopefully Goga & Suggs coming back helps with that
Because Paolo & Franz both have been underwhelming defensively, compared to how they typically play on that end.
