I see very little reason to not do this. The money we take back in Miller is not so much more than an MLE and 1st rounders salary, along with the money saved when we would have let guys like Arroyo and Garrity expire and walk. Bring on Miller and Garcia, dump the 1st rounder in the deal and stand pat this offseason. We won't be that far over the cap and Miller is only on the books for 2 more years.
Get it done Otis.
Get it done Otis.

Well, that's not true. A draft pick where the Magic would be drafting probably would be making about $1 million a year. Brad Miller is going to make more than $11 million next season -- and for every dollar he puts you over the cap you are going to pay an extra $1 million in luxury tax -- plus not get any cash back from the tax.
Still, I think you are assuming a lot if you believe this was even a proposal. It might be something someone put out there just so they could say the Magic are cheap if that deal doesn't get done (when it might not even be on the table). After all, people were saying the Magic were cheap when they had a $72 million payroll, fourth-highest in the league. Some people just want to say it, let's face it.
And by the way, Keith Bogans has played some significant minutes in this game.

That's easy. If they can't move Miller or Kenny Thomas then they can't be a player in free agency. So while you are kind of right, if you are rebuilding in Sacto, would you rather have Miller anf Garcia next year or Okafor or Josh Smith?

perhaps next time Bogans has a big slump like he has lately we should just bench him for a few days. the rest must've done him well?
