Disagree, with more consistent playing time, Gortat > Robin Lopez . The Nets got the good Lopez twin, Robin isn't that great.

It's a risk, but one worth taking for sure.

No, I'd rather Jameer continue to take shots.

If you didn't get Arenas to take shots absolutely horrid trade for the Magic. Gotta go with the good and bad of Gilbert. I just hope he gets his personality back now with Dwight.

imo - expect to trade him.

not a real good fit, and other teams will value him much more and give up a pf starter rather than a back up c (lopez is the better player imo).

i don't think it's a coincidence the deal happend now.
this gives both the suns and magic the 60 days they need to be able to trade players who they just got - in package deals - before the traded deadline.

imo, the suns fully intend to use gortat to try and unload childress for a pf (jamison makes a ton of sense imo, perhaps hickson too if you give up several picks), and im' sure the magic like having the opportunity to make some "corrective" deals if needed before the deadline.

I would have just done the lewis arenas trade and called it a day until the trade deadline when a better trade could have possibly come up.

Thats what the Magic got Arenas for, yes. That is just my opinion. I wouldn't have gotten Arenas if it were up to me in the first place.

Dwight was the catalyst of all of this....My idea of how it went down was that he had a little meeting and wanted changes....Said everyone can be traded except Jameer....Notice how Jameer as far as we know wasn't apart of any deals? Dwight helped to keep Meer here...man if it went down like that it just confirms that Superstars have a lot of clout and power

I wouldn't really take Arenas's fg% seriously. He's been going through the motions a bit this season, and the Wizards really didn't have anybody to open up things for him.

As a long time Laker fan, I really like both trades you guys made. Congrats and props to your team for putting this together. I think this team is much better than the old one, and I think you guys will be able to compete with the best of them.

Rockets Didn't Offer Martin For Gortat

Ken Berger of CBS Sports writes that the Rockets didn't offer the Magic swingman Kevin Martin in a deal for Marcin Gortat.

Orlando ended up trading Gortat to Phoenix in a trade that will net them Jason Richardson and Hedo Turkoglu.

"Source correcting me: #Rockets didn't offer Kevin Martin for Gortat. They specifically wouldn't offer him," Berger wrote on his Twitter page.
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

Can anyone tell me if either of the trades are confirmed and if they are what exactly are they? Don't have time to read 38 pages :$

And honestly, something had to be done... could there have been a better deal involved? Yes... but this is what we're stuck with and we have to make the best of it... and honestly, we weren't going anywhere with Carter and Lewis anyways, so it's time reload and to go for broke with Arenas, Turk, and J-Rich

I'll root for them of course. But the team panicked, as well as the fans. Struggling, yet still have a 16-9 record. Knicks are having an "amazing" season and are 16-11. Just imagine how many games we would have won if we righted the ship. Now we have to acclimate four new players (I expect Clark will have to play given our backup C problem) who aren't strong defensively. Not smart, not smart at all.

Better yet imagine how many playoff series this team would have won with VC and Shard hiding under the scorers table. That's where they were last year when the going got tough. Good riddance to those two lazy, lazy players.

It's not just this season. He's a career 42% shooter.

Magic fans I like this trade for you guys from an offensive stand point, but I'm wondering what you guys feel about the defensive side ?

Something tells me Orlando will have to make a counter move for a grit type 4, I don't see Turk digging in against the thugs of east like KG, Haslem ( I know he's done) or Amar'e and Horford.

Do you guys anticipate anything else ?

Nice moves though, definitely give you more fire power.
