Signing Crawford to be a starter would spell disaster as this dude is not worth more than $4-5 million per and he is seeking way more than that.

I wouldn't mind Crawford here for a 1 year deal to hold us over until Monta.....i should of made that clear that Crawford for me would be short term....but it might be difficult to convince him to a 1 year deal......

Say what you want about the fans on this board but one thing is evident, we all care.

Winning and superstars help make a board active. Pistons board used to be the 3rd most active board years ago and now it is a ghost town at times. If the Magic do trade Dwight and become a perennial lottery team, this board will have a 1/4 of its posts at least within a years or two. People get bored with losing organizations.

Likewise, the Heat board was very active when they won with Shaq and Wade, then was dead for about 2 years, now it is active again.

Regardless, Magic board is one of the best I have seen.

Why would Jcraw opt-out of a one year @ 5mi contract for another one? He wants a long-term deal like Nelson wants too.

All of these guys will learn that the new CBA is very different. Notice all of the one year deals signed this year.

Hell no...there isn't a scenerio where a team willing to rent dwight doesn't take on at least one our bad contracts. Is immediately flip dalembert and lowery for another higher pick.

this.

teams aren't willing to overspend for role players because of the new tax rules. higher penalty for repeaters will keep the spending in check....hopefully.

Kurt Helin ‏@basketballtalk
@stephenasmith For Shaw it's not just preference -- he wants an HC job, he's not turning down Charlotte to wait and see with Orlando.

Maybe we have a kind of under the table agreement with Mike Malone.......As far-fetched as that may sound maybe it would explain the lack of urgency

That would be weird. I'd prefer to let the new GM handle the coach search. Whether he gets Shaw, Malone, or McMillan should be completely up to him.
