Whatever happened to the defenders of the Elf? Did they all post at the Suns board now? Serious question.

Definitely have to agree here. Talent is there.... drive..... not so much. Kid just doesn't know how to get out of 2nd gear. Sad to see him plummeting so much.... but yeah.... doesn't have the mental fortitude to come out and give it his all. kinda questioning his love for the game a little now.

Is there anyone specific you're thinking of? Magicstarwipe is still here and chimes in every night, SOUL is here of course, I see Audi all the time who was an EP supporter, I'm still here. Maybe there was a defector I'm forgetting about, but I'm pretty certain that not a single Magic fan switched sides.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

A really bad trade, luckily we could get a high 2nd for him...

June 26, 2014: Traded by the Philadelphia 76ers to the Orlando Magic for Dario Saric, a 2015 2nd round draft pick (Willy Hernangomez was later selected) and a 2017 1st round draft pick (De'Aaron Fox was later selected).

don't get toooooo out of hand. haha

Once that happens -- and it will, the Sixers aren't making the playoffs this season -- that would mean the pick that was supposed to go to Orlando starts that same three year clock in 2017. The Magic would have gotten the pick whenever the Sixers made the playoffs.

but yes.... we gave up a lot.... was a gamble... and we lost on it.

I was being sarcastic, but I just don't see anyone vouching for him any longer. Anyways he's off the team, Elf just never really grew and adjusted his style of play since I had hopes for him, but it got to a point where it was obvious he's not the answer. Same with Vuc, on Evan I have hope, specially since there was a notable change between him and AG where he seems to be embracing AG now days. I just hope FO can make some major changes that produce an promising team of basketball and head towards the right direction. I'm not attached to any particular player as this team is full of holes and we should rebuild the rebuild, start from scratch, keep AG and JI, whoever we draft and retool from top to bottom. It's about time we take a step into becoming a cohesive and balanced team. I'm just tired of this Ill fitting and questionably coached team. Still, a Magic fan to this date and sooner than later I hope we can all become excited for our future.

I’d still vouch for him - just don’t really see a point seeing as he’s not even on the team anymore. Just turned 24, went from garbage team to steaming hot garbage team, and hasn’t had a coach or system worth buying into, tbh. That said, his head is somewhere else and the blame for poor play falls to him.
Frustrating player - as has always been the case, the potential is there and we’ve seen him time and again show flashes of something special - for whatever reason he just doesn’t know how (or refuses) to activate. Hard to tell why. The reason I’d still vouch for him though is because I think he’s playing below his means...no idea why, I just know he is better than the garbage level he’s playing at. He’s checked out and barely trying. Sad, really.

If that second round pick turns out to be Jevon Carter then we win.

4 points 2 rebounds , 2 assists ,3 turnovers 2-9 shooting, +/- of -31 in 22 min. Second game where Ulis looked better than him.

Better start taking chinese lessons in summer, gonna need them.

Ditto.

And whats the point in discussing him with people that hate him?

Agree on all points.

For those looking to Phoenix stats: the team is so horrible that that magnifies on the PG. Payton is not at fault. I cannot see him resigning with them though unless the money is very large. The team is so messed up if he were to resign it is plausible that this would end his NBA career (but a 4/40M deal, he probably inks that).
Frankly the New Orleans Pelicans is a logical choice for me. He will begin as #2 on the PG depth chart, but Rondo will miss games every year and he really is near E on his tank anyhow. This allows Payton to step in to the starting slot very soon.

Definitely agree on the Pels. To be honest, I think he's always wanted to land there. Huge family guy who seems to have put a good bit of his identity into his birthplace/hometown. Perhaps he would view playing NBA basketball as a solid backup/occasional starter for them as just as/or more meaningful than starting for a garbage team across the country? No idea, but I can definitely see it.

I liked Elfrid a lot in his early time with the Magic but the fact that he refuses to cut his hair when it is a detriment to his game tells you literally everything you need to know about the guy.

All it should take is it causing him to miss JUST ONE SHOT or screw up JUST ONE PLAY and that should be enough to wake his ass up. But it’s happened repeatedly and he doesn’t care. He’s collecting a paycheck... he’s not striving to be a great player.

So you understand... it’s not the hair that’s the problem. It’s the mindset and overall attitude behind the reasoning for keeping the hair which is indicative of a much larger problem than the hair itself.
