I know injuries played a role, but the Magic had the easiest schedule in the league in the first half and posted the 6th worst record.

They have the toughest schedule in the league in the second half.

The Magic have 13 wins right now, but 12 of the 13 are against teams that currently have losing records. Only 1 win 33 games into it against a team with a winning record currently.

Like I said in another thread, Orlando has 39 games left and only 4 of them are against teams with worse records than they have.

I just don’t see how they’re going to do well. They’ve only beaten trash and they just don’t have much more trash on the schedule.

God bless you for cheering me up. 8-)

This is a staggering stat. 1 from 33 against teams with a winning record. Can we some how forward this to the FO if they’re still deciding to run it back? Jesus that’s brutal.

I wrote that a little misleading.

The Magic are 33 games into their season and they only have 1 win against a team over .500 which was the home win against the Warriors.

Overall they are 1-10 against teams .500 or better and 12-10 against teams under .500.

Yeah they’ll spend a lottery pick on him and never play him. Classic.

Honestly, Bouknight was completely off my radar.

I took your advice and watched some highlights.

Alright, I like what (little) I see. I’ll tune into some UConn games and try to catch some more.

Yup but check a full game when he wasnt injured.
Watch when he passes or when he is agrrssive. His athelticism isnt probably as great as Keon but his shooting... As little as i saw he is probably a pure SG which is fine for me.

Yeah watching some game highlights (wasnt on him before this board so havent seen full games), the only knock im seeing is that he doesnt seem to be uber-athletic, but besides that, looks very promising

He is athletic enough to finish alley-oop dunks, BUT if we are talking about UBER-athleticism like hang-in-the-air like Johnson and Green then he would be in the top-3 conversation already.

I'm going to be so disappointed when we don't get Cade Cunningham. He's the #1 pick. It's not close. He's going to carry a franchise.

Other than Orlando ...

Which team likely to have a top pick would be a best fit for Cade to flourish?

Where does his unique skill set fit best?

- Minny with KAT and Russell?
- Washington with Beal?

Wash would be interesting. I know Westbrook gets alot of hate these days but having a chance to play a few years with a player like that would be great for him.

We need to just start resting players like Ross and Vuc. Other teams like Cleveland with Drummond, and the Pistons with Griffin, are all in. When we played Sacramento the other night, they held out Bagley and Fox.

I'd hate to be one loss away from Cade, like we were with Doncic and Young.

I do feel it’s trending towards Cade going #1 and getting that pick will be a true luck of the draw scenario.

I won’t fully blame WeHam if we lose Cade.

What is unacceptable is missing out on a shot at one of the other great prospects in the top 5. We need to secure good odds at landing a top 5 pick and landing one of the elite prospects ... even if it’s not Cade.

Yes, sitting and trading some guys is how to do that.

A team of:

Vuc/Bamba
Isaac/Chuma/Aminu
Cade/MCW
?/Ross
Cole/Fultz

would have some very nice offensive versatility and a great defensive anchor in Isaac.

Let's imagine Cade has a Luka-ish impact on that team. How good does the starting SG need to be to elevate the team into a contending team? Feels like they'll need to be a strong on-ball and help defender so Isaac isn't doing everything himself (depending on how well Cade develops on that end, too), but also a high-end perimeter shooter. Someone in the model of Klay or even Haliburton. Basically, if we could combine Gordon and Fournier into one player they would be perfect, but as individual and even combined trade assets they aren't likely to land that either of those players.

My first thought goes to Vassell. Can Gordon + Fournier get us Vassell?

Is Mikal Bridges a pipe dream, or would a team trying to make a rally to seriously contend prefer two quality pieces over one? I'd think Gordon and Fournier combined could push Phoenix to a higher level than Bridges can individually, but maybe I'm undervaluing how well he fits their other pieces?

Conclusion, Cade would be one of those freak pieces that could really unite the rest of our roster.

No gm can pass on cade at 1. Putting another guy ahead of him at this point is criminal overthinking.
