Only a 98.1 pace tonight. Not that fast. Plus an unbelievable amount of stoppages due to free throw attempts.

The defense was just god awful the entire night.

I'm not worried totally, I saw enough good signs in the 2nd half to be confident they'll adjust.

Yup even AB and Suggs were not good. Had their moments but as a whole, nope. Paolo and Bane just atrocious. And even Franz has not looked like Franz.

Horrible defense and great shotmaking by them. Don't think it was even schemes like our team was just running around trying to contain Maxey and couldn't, he'd make simple passes to open players

I push back on this significantly. The Magic hunt mismatches ALL THE TIME. Especially late games.

They just do it very slowly with Paolo or Franz and neither one of them is as close to as good as Maxey is in isolation.

there is no creativity in how they run plays for Paolo or Franz. It's a screen looking for switch (but not really targeting poor defenders, just smaller players) or having WCJ push the defender and him trying to slip the screen. That is the length of the creativity they have in 'hunting'. :lol:

Wendell has been garbage for a long time. The only thing keeping him from reaching Fournier levels of distaste for me is the fact that he's not a featured offensive player.

The themes so far are horrific defense, tons of mental mistakes, continue poor shooting. Poor team right now but time to turn it around. Heads should roll if not.
